Whitefish Mountain Resort is a ski mountain that also offers a ton of summer activities like hiking, biking, and zip lining. This resort is located in the small town of Whitefish, Montana.
The skiing was bad due to the warm weather but let me tell you about the food. The most amazing food I have ever had on a ski mountain and I spent a lot of time at Deer Valley. The mountain is more for intermediate to expert skiers as what we saw was steep. The staff was exceptional and we had no issues with anything except the snow!

Probably one of the most difficult hikes I have done but totally worth it. Views were spectacular;, lunch at the summit was satisfying and delicious. The Danny On trail was hiked to get to the summit and we took the ski lift down. It was a wonderful experience.

Awesome place to enjoy the outdoors on a warm Summer day. Zip lines are the best in Montana. I really like the food and friendly staff. The view from the summit is amazing. We had a lot of fun exploring the mountain and resort.

It's my favorite place to stay while in whitefish. Actually, it's the only place i stay when in whitefish. The gondola to the top is handicap friendly, and it made our trip with my 93 year old grandfather undeniably unforgettable. The gondola staff was amazing and knowledgeable. Food at the top was delicious. Our kids loved the alpine slide down to the spider monkey mountain, but 1in to tall to play. It's also a good driving distance to Glacier National Park.

Awesome skiing and views. Small quiet private slops for locals and people who know about the area! Thanks Ben for the lessons, you were amazing!

Went here after our uber driver suggested this place. The staff were friendly and helpful. I tried the alpine meadow ride which is definitely decent ! The trails look steep but thankfully they have gondolas and chairs carrying you all the way to the top. Overall definitely worth checking out for the views and if you're into mountain biking !

This ski area has a 3.8 mile gradual hike and for $19 you can ride up or down the tram to save your feet. Gorgeous views from the top. Food and drinks at the top and bottom.

Great two days on the mountain. Friday was far less busy than Saturday. Good dining options on the hill and the staff was great all around the mountain. Only issue is it took forever in traffic to get off the mountain on Saturday.

We came for the chair lift experience in the summer. Our group had a handicapped person. It was a perfect excursion for us, and so pretty at the top. The waffle French fries are to die for.

I love this mountain 🏔 I love how un-crowded it is compared to other mountains and how comparable the slopes, weather, and quality of snowboarding/skiing are here to places like Park City, Aspen or Vail 🙌🏽 Whitefish is home to me, so maybe I'm a little biased, but as a local real estate agent, it's one of the aspects my clients remark on the most!
Kaelei A — Google review
Never fails to disappoint (we have been very lucky weather wise). Great mountain with lots of terrain to explore. First time bringing the kids this season, and they really progressed with the more advanced terrain. Bierstube is a favorite for apres.

Our group of 7 had a wonderful time ziplining, doing the alpine slides and having lunch at the top of the mountain! Great activity for the day with easy parking and nice facilities.

We did the Ski lift and restaurant at the top in July. Fast & friendly people.the bike trails looked awesome!& lots of people having fun! The restaurant was definitely a pretty good value for the money

Big Mountain is excellent. Affordable, unpretentious and a wide range of runs. El Niño has devastated ski resorts around North America this winter but Whitefish had been able to stay open and slowly open new runs. Beware low and flat light conditions and bring the right type of lenses.
Kurt W — Google review
A great mountian. I was able to ski over 20k ft for each of three days. We hit some good weather. Some fresh snow, one day of sun. A couple of days with fog on the front side. Ski in ski out lodging was very convenient. They had good grooming. They also had runs for all skill levels.
Karl W — Google review
The weather wasn’t great the day we went so that may cloud my judgement but overall we enjoyed the place. There was plenty of parking and we figured out where to go after stopping once to inquire about the ticket office. The food we got in the lodge at the top was mediocre at best. The trail did have a confusing sign when we were coming down and we couldn’t find our way to the blue slope. We were avoiding black diamonds. We would definitely come back with better snow conditions and try again and pack a lunch. The resort is a quick 10-15 minute drive from the town of Whitefish and we absolutely adored the town. Had lots of fun checking out coffee shops and dinner venues and shopping along the way.
Lynn D — Google review
This is my favorite ski hill in Montana hands down! When the cloud cooperate you can see The Crown of the Continent from the top. Just stunning! So many runs for all levels.
Dacia E — Google review
First time on this hill and there is great terrain and snow! A nice variation in more open groomed runs and tons of tree runs, it was busy but didn't feel crowded. Shorter runs than I'm used to in the Canadian rockies but made for more runs in a day!
Rhett H — Google review
Landon and Sarah at the zip line tours were awesome. We went on august 14th. Staff on the lifts and at the alpine slide were also funny and friendly. Ticketing staff were also awesome, great place to go and have fun.
Nicole A — Google review
Amazing mountain! Great variety of terrain over a large, well dispursed mountain. Never a huge line at the lift. Lots of great food, drink, and swag options both top and bottom of the mountain. Good grooming and some spectacular view if you catch a bluebird day here! Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Two Medicine Lake is a beautiful and serene alpine lake located in the heart of Glacier National Park. The scenery is stunning and the opportunity to take in breathtaking views of the mountains is simply unbeatable. With hiking trails, a campground, and boats that can take you around the lake, there's plenty to do here whether you're looking for a day trip or an extended stay.
Beautiful lake in east glacier national park. Parking is free and easy to find. There are trails for good and easy hikes nearby. General store is also easily accessible. There is a boat rental with plenty of boat options and boat tours available till 4pm.
Vishwa S — Google review
We took the boat tour in this area. This destination is about 45 minutes from St Mary on the East side, so it is out of the way. Visited Twin Falls. Most of the lovely sites are impaired by fallen trees, but their beauty is still evident. Photos just aren't so nice.

Absolutely gorgeous! Moved to Montana in August 2021. Love this place. Also hiked out to Running eagle 🦅 falls in the park. Beautiful ❤️ definitely will be coming back!!!

Visited mid May and the road was open, but due to the amount of snow in April all upper trails were not accessible. However, the lake was still beautiful being frozen.
Alan B — Google review
Great hike to upper two medicine lake. It was very windy and chilly while we were there so reflections on the lake weren’t there and we didn’t see any moose or bear while there. We did see one deer and moose tracks though :)

A hidden gem! We were mesmerized with the view and were wondering why we haven’t heard more of this side of glacier. The boat ride was a very wonderful experience, as well.

Glacier National Parks secret little treasure! 🤫This part of the park is underrated and under visited. Lots of great trails to hike and even offers boat tours around the lake in summer or canoe and kayak. It is beautiful here in any season and one of my favorite parts of the park with some of my favorite trails. The road to Two Medicine is closed in winter and spring making it great for cross country skiing then biking after it’s been plowed. Summer and fall are good for hiking and it averages about 10° cooler than the west side of Glacier.Stop by Running Eagle Falls on your way to the Lake for an easy trail to a beautiful waterfall at all times of the year.Hike Scenic Point for some great views of the Two Medicine Lake area. You don’t even have to go all the way to the top and you’ll probably see big horn sheep.Take a day to do Dawson/Pitamaken loop from the campground for incredible summit type views of valleys, lakes, and smaller mountains.Take a day and hike around the print of the lake and branch off on many side trails leading to several waterfalls.Take a short hike to Paradise Point for a picnic or beautiful sunset.

Beautiful scenery! If you're fishing the fish are quite small. Saw a cow and calf moose and a red fox on our little hike as well

Great people. And great boat ride. Hike to end from boat drop is about 2.5 miles. Early in year seems best. Waterfall is running full blast. There is a visitor center at boat rental that has food and drinks. Everyone that didnt take the boat out and hiked up. Wanted to take the boat back. Seen 3 bull moose on way to waterfall. Great boat ride and hike.

Beautiful! Fun to swim. Very windy the day we were there, but what a nice walk to the closevy peninsula on a private less windy beach.

I took a family of six on the boat ride on Two Medicine Lake for only $85. Is an excellent value!I wish we had known that they would drop us off at the other end of the lake. We would have done the hiking trail if we had known ahead of time. Even if you're not hiking, the boat ride is incredible. The boat is almost 100 years old but is pristine and recently restored. The sliding windows made it easy to take photographs. Our captain, was a young lady in a early 20s, who allowed us to spend time at the front of the boat taking pictures! She was very knowledgeable about the lake, the boat, and the history of the area. She even had a few good jokes! If you found this review helpful, please hit the like button!

The serenity of Two Medicine Lake will spellbound you. This side of glacier NP is not as crowded as all other parts of Glacier. Tourist do not come here so much so lot of peace and quiet. The water is very calm and you can see in the pictures the reflection is so beautiful. We kayaked on this lake due to my son’s insistence but we do not regret it at all. One of the best experiences we had in Glacier NP

One of my favorite sport in Glacier Nationalpark. All hiking trails around are great and the boat ride is worth it , you learn so much !

Awesome scenic place close to the east entrance. There are a lot of campgrounds and picnic spots. There are some quiet fishing spots. People can take the boat ride tour which has a 45 person capacity but you have to reserve your place asap. There are kayaks and other motor boating options too. A lot of natural trails and hikes are there too which are moderate to difficult. If you go for hiking during the summer take a bug spray or repellent.

Beautiful scenery. The lodge was great to see and definitely has an awesome history behind it. If you want to travel on the Sun Highway, make sure you have a smaller vehicle and make a vehicle reservation, or you will be turned back. The prices are standard for a tourist spot, but not too bad, lost of little shops around and places to grab a snack. Boat rentals are very reasonable. The water was crystal clear, and the rocks were very colorful .

Lake McDonald is breathtaking! The scenery is stunning, with crystal-clear waters and majestic mountain views. It's hard to believe a place can be so beautiful. A must-see for anyone who loves nature!

Went to Glacier NP in end of July for my daughter's birthday. The weather was perfect during this time. We kayaked on Lake McDonald in the morning. It was serene and calm with not too many people. More people came later in the day. Would recommend going early. The park had a nice combination of restaurants, gift shops, hotel accomodations and launching pads. The lake itself was beautiful to be on. You can see the mountains and beauty much better from the water.

What a vibe - no real hiking required to get here. It’s the part of going to the sun road that is usually open. If you want to hike - suggest hiking to Fish Lake - on the way up you can get breathtaking views of Lake McDonald’s. Pics are from early May 2024.

We were passing by the area and stopped at the Apgar Visitor Center and then the Lake McDonald Lodge. Beautiful lake with a lot of people kayaking and using small boats.

Lake McDonald is a local favorite, and after doing tons of sessions and elopements at this spot I can't say enough just how beautiful it is! The water is freaking cold, but people do swim, kayak, and paddle board here all the time. Best Sunsets ever!

I was so happy to see just a portion of this beautiful park! The west side of Glacier's Going to the Sun road was clear most of the way up Lake McDonald. Although it turned to dirt halfway, it was very smooth driving. I did get there after 6pm, so that may have had a little to do with that! The lake it's so clean and clear. As in many pics I've seen, the rocks in the lake were many different colors and the mountains were snow covered.
Denese M — Google review
If you visit Glacier National Park, be sure to see Lake McDonald—it's a must-see. You can enhance your trip by adding some kayaking on the lake.
Aatira J — Google review
Gorgeous views, clear blue water, and some of the freshest air you’ll breathe. We rented kayaks and spent a few hours paddling the shores on a relatively windy day. It was worth it, but in retrospect probably would’ve rented on a different lake or stream in the park. Ended up stopping along the southern shore and swimming, which was great. Cold, but great. The views of the lake driving up GTS road are phenomenal as well. Overall, worth checking out from the Apgar area. Consider a kayak or boat rental, but be prepared for some wind. And definitely get out for a swim, weather permitting.

Honestly breathtaking. I accidentally dropped both my McNuggets and my father's ashes because I was unprepared for the beauty. Don't listen to the haters, this is where I'm going to get married for the third time.

Beautiful lake with amazing views of the mountains. It stretches a long road side and has a lot of viewpoints. The main attraction are the coloured pebbles along the lake shore. We stopped at a random viewpoint and it was amazing there. There is a small town at one side with a few picnic spots, amphitheatre, some gift shops , conoes rentals and restaurants. Overall a nice place to visit during summer .

The Running Eagle Falls is a beautiful waterfall that can be found close to Two Medicine Lake in the Rocky Mountains. The falls are named for a Native woman who showed bravery and good medicine in battle. The trail to the falls is paved and handicap accessible, making it easy for anyone to enjoy. Plus, the round-trip hike is only 0.6 miles long so its great for all ages!
Enjoyed this very easy, little walk to the most tricky waterfall in GNP! Tricky because when water flow is low, the falls only flow from a large hole in the cliff below the main falls' brink. When flow is high, it appears to only flow from the top of the falls' cliff! Very cool!

Easy, flat trail that is partially paved. The waterfall is gorgeous and the creek is a great place to cool your feet off on a hot day. We went early and it wasn’t crowded.

We stumbled upon this amazing trailhead with waterfall while heading towards two medicine lake. The waterfall is peaceful and serene. The hike is easy with no change in elevation. I saw few people fish here. The wildlife is friendly. The story tied to this place is really interesting.

Running Eagle Falls is a fun waterfall to view as it flows through a cave before emerging on lower water levels. When high water volume flows it covers up this cave with a wall of water pouring over the upper cliff.

This is a quick >1 mile hike that is very level to a beautiful waterfall that has a "trick" to it. When the water is heavy, it gushes over the top, but on lower water days, like the day I visited, it travels through a tunnel.Read the story about Running Eagle before you take the walk and it will have a little more meaning and special quality about the falls.

Located in Glacier National Park, Avalanche Lake is a popular hiking destination that offers stunning views of snow-capped mountains and forested slopes. The lake is surrounded by dense woods and mountains, making it difficult to access, but the quick bop over to Avalanche won't spare you the crowds.
Avalanche Lake was one of my favorite trails I ever hiked in Glacier National Park. It feels like you are walking through a prehistoric forest with the massive leaves and trees. The river that runs through this area is absolutely mesmerizing with the way it cuts the gorge and rocks around it. The rocks are super slippery though so I do not recommend getting too close to them out of the danger of slipping. Avalanche Lake itself lends perfectly to photos and offers dramatic reflections of the mountains and forest behind it. In the fall the leaves were changing all sorts of colors which lent itself wonderfully to photos. I would put this hike on your list especially if you only have one day in Glacier!

It's a beautiful lake in Glacier National Park. You have to climb up on the trail for 1.6 miles to reach here. Moderate trail. Beautiful scenic point. I enjoyed the trail as well as the small stay at the lake.

Beautiful trail. Lake is not huge, but it is gorgeous. Hiked it at the end of April 22. Going to sun road was closed, so had to hike from lake McDonald which is a 17 mile hike or so. About 8 miles in and 8 miles out. The last couple miles to lake was in snow.

Wonderful hike through the woods. Ends at a beautiful shoreline where you can view the backdrop of the three waterfalls. Slightly strenuous 5 mile hike to get there.
Orlando S — Google review
We visited this place in July 2022. This trail is located on the West Entrance on Going To The Sun Road. To drive on this road, you will need a pass. If you don't have one, go to recreation.gov The park makes 1k tickets available the night before and it cost $2.00 If you don't have a pass, they will not let you in. Also if your vehicle is longer than 21 ft, they will turn you around. To those who have a longer RV, there is a campground outside St. Mary Entrance that will accommodate you. Read the review I did of that RV park. We stayed there for 4 nights. We also stayed on a campground outside the park on the west side of Glacier, Big Creek Campground. Read the review I did of that place. It may help you decide to camp there if you can't camp inside the park due to the length of your vehicle or RV. There is way to get in if you don't have a pass. You can either get in before 6am or after 4pm. They do that to control the traffic and not congest the roads nor parking lots. After 4pm most people have left the park. This keeps the traffic going. This is a famous NP and thousands visit it. There is a check point where they verify your park entrance, your pass and the length of your vehicle. You can buy bear spray for $50.00. I know right or rent one at the Apgar Village. I don't know the prices. We learned that you can rent them as we were leaving the park. So we brought home with us the unused $50 bear spray. Now, let's review the trail itself! This trail is located on the Lake Mcdonald Valley area which is closer to the West Entrance. This is a must trail in my opinion. You should get to the parking lot early, I mean 6am early. The parking lot holds about 25 to 30 cars. We got there at 6am and it was halfway full. You can definitely do this with the kids. You start at the trail of the cedars and go onto the Avalanche Lake. You walk through the forest so you don't get that much panoramic views of the park, but once yiu get to the lake, you'll take in all the beauty before you. You can actually spend the entire day at the lake if you want. Had we known, we could've brought some chairs, more snacks, water shoes, sunscreen, and some inflatable tubes. As we were heading to the lake, we saw a few people carrying inflatable tubes. Whe we got there I realized the reason. There are 2 beach like areas where you can sit on the sand or your chairs in the shade, and float on the still lake with almost no current near the beach area. I wished we knew that. We would've stayed longer. I would definitely do this trail again .

Really easy trail. Good for a rest day after a long difficult hike. Crowded and did not see any wildlife. Go to the last frame of my video for a laugh.
Jaimie E — Google review
Amazing hike with amazing lake on top. Lots of people on the trail. It’s hard to find parking lot spots but if you come early in the morning, you’ll be well off. Took a dip in the lake and it’s nice and chillly. The trail is mostly shaded and was wet because it rained a lot. Lots of people on the first beach but if you go to the opposite side of the lake you can avoid the crowds and swim since it’s deeper on the back end

Pretty mellow 5 mile round trip to the end. We left Macdonald Lodge at 6:50 and got the last parking spot. Fills up early. Wind usually picks up by 9:30 so if you want glass water another reason to go early. Beautiful! Trail is great. I’d consider it easy.

A must visit place in glacier national park. Absolutely loved the hike to this scenic place. It's a Lil over 2 miles with 600 ft elevation and a moderate hike to this stunning lake. Reach the parking lot early to save time looking for parking spots as it fills up real quick.

Overall easy hike to get to the lake. Definitely worth going early enough to see the sun rise over the mountains. Moments of going uphill, and rough terrain. Pit toilets at the lake are available, bring your own toilet paper/sanitizer. Get to the trailhead early - parking was limited by 645 and trail was busy by 830.

Beautiful but busy. Absolutely worth the 6 mile hike (and even the extra 2 miles when there's no parking nearby). There's a bit of elevation, so do your research and plan ahead. We stopped to put our feet in the water at the end, and seen a bear on the way back. Highly recommended when visiting Glacier National Park.
Nick W — Google review
Beautiful! If you are only going to do one moderate difficulty hike on a trip to Glacier then I recommend doing this one.Bring adequate water and a snack to enjoy sitting next to the lake. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the waterfalls flowing into the boxed-in lake. The water is cool so bringing some water shoes and having a swimsuit under your hiking clothes is a good idea. The water is clear but you will kick up dirt walking around in it.Watch out for the chipmunks when you have food since they can be very aggressive.

Logan Pass is the highest navigable point by road on the Continental Divide. The pass is located in Glacier National Park, at an elevation of 6646 feet. The views from the summit are stunning and it's a popular starting point for many hikes.
Though parking can be tough here, visiting this pass and center and the surrounding area is worth the effort. There are plenty of restrooms and exhibits, indoor and outdoor. The trail to Hidden Lake starts out the back door and is along a boardwalk for a good portion, though I still recommend bringing water and good shoes or well-fitting sandals. There's a couple herds that appear to love the are as well - Bighorn Sheep and Mountain Goat! BTW, visit the Hidden Lake overlook - it's very worth the climb!
Brian B — Google review
The views are nice uptop, there are goats and chipmunks. The lake is nice to see and snow is there even in July. The issue is the parking. There are no spots available. Sometimes a ranger is at the front just asking people to turn around. There is a shuttle, but not a single employee will tell you about it. There isn't a single post giving you information on the shuttle either. There is a bathroom, but no sink. Despite there being water for the toilet, and the water bottle filler, no sink. Makes no sense. While the views are nice, I've been to more organized parks and would just skip this one.

This is another review that's hard to write. On the one hand, Logan Pass is STUNNING. On the other hand, the parking situation is the worst I've encountered in my life ANYWHERE.Glacier NP needs to make larger parking lots on both ends of the going-to-sun road (St. Mary and Apgar visitor's centers), give out fewer permits to drive the road (and enforce them on both the west and east sides), put time limits on parking lots along that road, and require people to ride the shuttle if they don't have permits to drive the road or if they'll be hiking longer than the parking time limit. And they need to run more shuttles. That's it. That would fix the issues.Unfortunately, because they haven't done that, the road can be EXTREMELY full of traffic, with every legal (and some illegal) parking spot taken. You have to be an a-hole and stop in the middle of the road (stopping everyone behind you) when you see people near their car in order to take their parking spot when they leave. Otherwise, the chances of getting a parking spot are about 1 in 100. Also, you typically have to park about 1/2 a mile and walk from there to the actual trailhead you wanted to hike.Logan Pass is beautiful. We drove through it many times on our trip, and it looked different based on weather every time. It was amazing. We eventually figured out the shuttle system (and we did get lucky once out of the whole weekend and get a parking spot with a 1/2 mile walk), so we were able to hike the very beginning of Hiline trail and also hike to the Hidden Lake Overlook. Both were beautiful experiences with surprisingly close encounters to wildlife. If the NPS would adjust their system to better accommodate all the people, this could be an amazing experience for nearly every visitor. As it currently is, we drove this section of road 5+ times in our weekend there and found a parking spot once. It started to feel like buying permits didn't matter because we couldn't find parking spots to use them, and that sucks. Definitely park lower down and use the shuttle if you want to hike there---or get up at 4 am to get a parking spot (jk, don't do that. Save parking spots for people doing shorter stops).

It was pretty Smoky when I visited but still definitely worth the trip! Going-to-the-Sun Road is absolutely gorgeous. Breathtaking scenery beautifully engineered Road and lots of fun to drive. Once you get to Logan pass there is a large parking lot usually kind of fool good bathrooms drinking fountains and lots of beautiful hiking trails. Head up early in the morning if you want to see wildlife. The ground squirrels and other small Wildlife are very friendly due to visitors feeding them. Take the hike to Hidden Lake Lookout they will come right up to your hand.

Excellent and top most motorable point in Glacier National Park. This place is on going to the Sun Rising Road. You can take various treks from this place. Parking is always somewhat difficult. You have to wait in busy hours. The place has a visiting center and various facilities. A close Overlook at different mighty and large mountains is simply marvellous. You can see many animals and birds if you reach here in the early morning hours. Excellent place for tourists. Going to the sun Road east and west roads are divided from this place.

The visitor center is nice; and yes there is limited parking because of how full it is, so I’d recommend taking a shuttle there. The hike is definitely worth it to get to the picturesque pass and get to witness some awesome views.
Macy B — Google review
Hands down the most beautiful pass. It actually is a spot for some of the best trails. We entered the park through the West Glacier entrance and took the Going-to-the-Sun Road to reach to Logan pass. The views throughout were immaculate and spectacular. There are multiple overlook points in between that one can stop at and admire. We didn’t have enough time to watch the sunrise but if you have that in your itinerary, Logan pass is the spot. For sunsets I’d recommend Lake McDonald. The trails that we did that started from this pass were Hidden Lake Trail and the Highline Trail. Logan pass is also the spot for the Continental Divide, which separates the Atlantic and Pacific watersheds of North America. If you plan to do the Logan Pass trails make sure you have enough food and water because the trails are long and the visitor centre is only open until 5:15pm. Also make sure you reach there early to save yourself a parking spot because 9/10 times the parking spot is full and you don’t want to waste your time waiting for someone to leave.

Beautiful views in the park there are fields of wildflowers. Beautiful glaciers and Lots of wildlife. Logan Pass is the highest elevation (6646ft/2025m) and is accessible by car. It is really popular with visitors and the parking lot is usually full between 8:30 am sometimes even earlier and 4:00 pm. Consider visiting the park by using the free shuttles to avoid limited parking, or plan to visit early or late in the day if possible. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and have sunscreen.

Lovely place! Always can count on seeing big horn sheep and mountain goats. Parking can be a pain during peak season.

Loved this place which is the trailhead for Highline Trail, a superb 12.5 mile moderate to strenuous hike with gorgeous views. The small store here is a really nice place to get good souvenirs, shirts, etc. The only downside is the limited parking spaces, so get here early!

Logan Pass is at 6,646 feet where the Going-to-the-Sun-Highway crosses the Continental Divide. It is the highest point on the Going-to-the-Sun-Highway, and roughly 2/3 of the distance across the Park. The scenery is quite beyond words and this is another Must-Do when visiting Glacier National Park. We found that many of our pictures showed mountains with their peaks in the clouds. What we could see was marvelous so I know the rest would be grand too.The Visitor Center is atop the Continental Divide, and from there access is available to the Highline Trail, known for wildflowers during the summer. Access for other trails is there also. The Visitor Center is open mid-June to mid-September and is staffed with helpful rangers and several exhibits. There is also a gift shop. The restrooms are nice and very welcome. We had hoped to enjoy a picnic lunch we brought with us to eat there, but this area is also known for high winds, and this day the wind was frigid. We ate in the car and enjoyed the view from inside. Food service is not available here. There is what seems like a lot of parking, but it is often difficult to find an available place, as this is a busy area.

Lots of animal airings and beautiful breathtaking views. Amazing experience of fairly warm weather with snow. Up hill hike but mostly wooden steps. Hiking shoes are a veni fit due to some slippery snow.

Very beautiful place and a good place to park and go on trails. Has public restrooms, plenty of car parking, good trail paths with beautiful mountain views. I’ve visited this place in the month of June and the pass was open to public by then. The road(Going to the Sun road) to this place is one of the most beautiful drives I’ve ever driven. Very narrow roads but it is worth driving till the Logan pass. A must visit place in the Glacier National Park.

Went today [July 21st 2024] when most of the snow is gone. Left from St Mary at around 7 and got the logan pass at around 8. Parking was already full, so you spend 30-1 hour going in circles just to try to park your vehicle.Once you park its nice, but the parking situation is terribly undersized. It's on a mountain so I don't know what else they can do, but as we were coming back the circling by other people was even worse then when we started and you start to see people become very desperate. We had 3 people approach us as we were heading to our car if they could have our spot... the first person who asked us we said sure but I followed up with " I don't know how your gonna manage that." Suddenly, , the passenger hops out her car and follows us to our spot (it's far) and holds it, then there's a big commotion about how she's being a (capital B-bad word) infront of my 3 and 5 year old girls. Meanwhile all this was going on my girls really had to pee. We unfortunately noticed the the women's washroom was out of order as we decided to leave earlier, but it wasn't such a big deal for us because we travel with a travel potty for our young ones in the back of our small SUV. Both girls had to use the potty, but we felt like we had to get out of there as soon as we could to avoid the confrontation. I'll never forget my daughter turning to be concerned and asked "why is he so mad, dad?" and that was because there was a guy who got out his car to yell at the woman pessanger who was holding our spot. Unfortunately, The 3 year old ended up peeing her pants. If anyone asks you for your spot, just avoid the mess and say no, then when you leave someone who was playing fairly will get the spot. Lesson learned on my behalf. I didn't think people went that low for a parking spot.Edit... I just read the another negative review written by Bryan and I agree. I could never be that person to pester people for their spot or send kids out to hold spots, not only are my kids to young go do this, but I'd never ever stoop that low to tell them or let them do that either. The trail is 5/5, especially for young kids but the parking makes me lose faith in humanity.

Bowman Lake is a large, glaciated lake located in Glacier National Park. It's accessible via Camas Road, and is popular for recreational visitors and wedding photographers alike. The lake has great views of surrounding mountains, making it an ideal spot for engagement photos.
Very beautiful and peaceful. Not a lot of people here, which we liked.

Down a long, one lane, dusty dirt road through forest and meadow, lies a lake near the most remote corner of GNP, and it is pretty! The campground was full yet quiet, except near the lake, and the restrooms were surprisingly pleasant. The water was clear and cold, and the lake bed was covered in pebbles that were great for skipping on the glassy surface!

It was an amazing sight to see. Rough road to get down to the lake, but a must-see if you are in the area and well worth it. If you love nature this place is for you.

Beautiful and worth the drive on the washboard road. Tip...if you have 4wd, turn it on...if you are able to drive closer to the speed limit, the bumps are actually easier to go over that way.

This lake is amazing but is flooded with people. It is tough to find parking and the campground is filled with people kayaking, Professional Photographers, People who are just on vacation like us. It's pretty crazy how many people traveled down those gravel, windy roads for that long to see this lake but it is pretty nice

Incredibly beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. It is worth driving on gravel roads to get there. I wish I had my kayak, but we just went for the view. The water was cold but guys were in the water fishing and some were kayak. It is crystal clear. You have to drive past Polebridge Mercantile, so be sure to stop there for a bite to eat. The place is peaceful and views are incredible.

Nice quiet area of GNP. Not as easy to get to as some of the other areas in GNP, but I guess that is why it is more quiet. Very nice mostly flat trail along the lake. Bring your bear spray for safety.

This place is great. Not crowded and very tranquil.the round to get here is so-so but not terrible. Numa Lookout is challenging hike but well worth the effort. And there is Ranger Fire Spotting Scope at the end of the hike. If Ranger is there it is your lake day because they my show you inside and explain how fire spitting works and show you incredible ancient trech they use. Swimming in the lake at the beach by parking lot is very nice. Fishing is also great.

True gem of Glacier National Park. The road out in amazing and has recently been redone. Be sure to stop in Polebridge for a sandwich and some snacks. The drive out takes a bit. Lots of gravel. Luckily we had the protections on our rental car so we didnt worry. When you pull into the campsite there's lots of options for terrain and mainly spots to choose from. I'd suggest arriving early on a Thursday or Friday if you're wanting to get a good spot as it can be busy. There are trails around the lake and other smaller lakes you can hike to. At night be sure to step out and look up at the stars. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Awesome experience visiting this lake, road to the lake was rough but was not difficult to drive.Be cautious while driving, if you are not used to drive on rough roads and also while if it rained or raining.Few suggestions:You have to choose bowman lake campground for navigation for google maps.Make sure to have a offline maps downloaded.Come before 9 AM if you plan to spend a day there or after 2 PM. Or else you might not be able to find parking or enter the park. I went there around 10 AM and waited until 12 PM to get insideFor food, either pack yourself a lunch or get a food from polebridge.Pack yourself swimwear as it will be tempting yo get into water.Bring water shoes if you like to walk around the lake in water.

Cameron Lake is one of our favorite places in Waterton. It is usually quite peaceful. It is often quiet. It can sometimes be busy, but usually only along the shore and in the parking lot. This is fine for us since we usually go paddleboarding and/or kayaking with our inflatable water craft. When you get out on the lake it is usually quite calm and peaceful and you're surrounded on all sides by mountain views. It is BEAUTIFUL!

Windabout longish drive up from Waterton Village but worth it. You know you're in the boonies with no cell phone service. The lake is clear pristine, and you can see the mountains across the border in Montana about 1.5 miles / 2.4 km from the visitor centre and docks. Boat, canoe, and paddleboard rentals are available. There is also scenic hiking, but we didn't have time to do that.

This destination is ideal for beginners looking for a sunny hike or for those who prefer a leisurely drive through the canyon.

“Beautiful, Serene, and Scenic, but Crowded at Times”Red Rock Canyon in Waterton Lakes National Park is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates stunning landscapes. The vibrant red rock formations set against the lush greenery and clear blue water create a picture-perfect scene. The short walk around the canyon is easy and suitable for all ages, making it a great option for families or those looking for a relaxing stroll. You can also dip your feet into the cool water, which is refreshing after exploring the park. One of the best parts about Red Rock Canyon is how accessible it is. It’s just a short drive from Waterton townsite, and the road leading there offers some great views as well. The canyon itself is not very large, but it packs a lot of beauty into a small area. It’s a perfect spot to take a break, have a picnic, or just admire the natural scenery. However, the reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that it can get quite crowded, especially during peak season. This can make it difficult to find a peaceful moment or get a good photo without other people in the background. The parking area also fills up quickly, so it’s best to arrive early or visit later in the day.Overall, Red Rock Canyon is a gem within Waterton, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. Just plan your visit wisely to avoid the crowds, and you’ll have a fantastic experience!”

A short hike, with canyon view. Canyon has beautiful colors and striations in the rocks. Easy hike intensity, with a loop trail. Bench at top for a snack or a rest. Has bathrooms at parking lot, and handicap parking. Picnic benches were too close to bathrooms, a bit smelly. Trailhead to additional hikes at same parking lot.
Mira S — Google review
Beautiful little canyon, amazing colors astounding location and views. Would recommend walking to the furthest point on the trail where it loops back for best view. The canyon is much deeper there so you can see more beautiful rocks but also there is a lot less people that want to walk up that hill! Very busy parking lot so be prepared you may have to park down the road at the further lot. Its a very busy location due to its accessibility. If you have walking assistance devices, strollers or wheel chairs you can definitely explore a lot of the views with its paved pathway.

Red Rock Canyon is the perfect place to let the young ones enjoy climbing the unique red rock and wading in the water. The restrooms are not flush toilets but better than a tree! The 1 km hike to Blakistan Falls shouldn't be ignored. We came across a deer munching on the path and there are 3 levels of steel walk out platforms overlooking the falls. The energy of the lower level at the top of the falls was the perfect moment for my partner to bend on one knee, on the poky metal grate, and propose. I will never forget this place! We came across a horse riding group back at the red rock bridge that added to the authenticity. It was quiet when we arrived around 10 am and lined up at the entrance by the time we were leaving on a Monday so get there earlier if you can.

Right upon arriving at Red Rock Canyon, I was pleasantly surprised to find wheelchair accessible bathrooms conveniently located near the entrance. While they were not flushable toilets, they were well-maintained outhouse-style bathrooms, providing a clean and accessible option for visitors. I was delighted to discover that the bathrooms were equipped with a diaper changing station, which is a thoughtful addition for families with young children.During my visit, the park was undergoing some maintenance or construction work, but it did not significantly hinder the overall experience. In fact, there were several sections of the canyon that were wheel-chair and stroller friendly, allowing everyone to enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings. It's important to note that due to the ongoing construction, not all the trails were perfectly straight, which may require some extra attention while navigating.Red Rock Canyon is a true visual delight. The contrasting red and green hues create a stunning backdrop for any kind of photography, whether you're capturing family moments, couples, or the captivating nature itself. The canyon's vibrant colors make it a perfect spot for capturing memorable pictures. As you explore the park, you'll come across a variety of hiking trails suitable for all levels of fitness. From shorter 1-kilometer routes to more challenging treks spanning 15 kilometers or more, there's something for everyone.Overall, Red Rock Canyon is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and photography enthusiasts alike. It’s a memorable experience for individuals, families, and friends seeking to connect with nature in a breathtaking setting. I highly recommend visiting Red Rock Canyon for an unforgettable outdoor adventure.Quick note: still lots of burned trees from the wildfire back in 2017

I’ve heard much about this place and it definitely lives up to the hype! The rocks are truly red from the exposed iron that has been oxidized by reacting with oxygen. We hiked up the canyon through the water. Water was like ice, but your feet go numb pretty quick and then you don't notice it anymore 😜. There were lots of natural slides down the rocks into small pools that we slid down. From toddler to middle age we all enjoyed this hike greatly!

It's very pretty here and as such pretty busy with people. Paths ard accessible for all and there is good interpretation as well as 2 large-ish car parks with washrooms and picnic sites. A thoroughly interesting museum that is worth a visit. They have an enormous collection of carriages, the oldest of which seems to be from 1852 France. Made by a variety of companies across Canada and the world, with the special importance on Canadian made, particularly by the McLachlin company, Which became General Motors Canada. There’s a lot to read, but just a visual walk-through is amazing as well. The staff were quite friendly and engaging, particularly the carriage driver and guide. Pay for the carriage ride. It’s a fun little jaunt around the property, and quite informative.

It's worth visiting this museum by driving a long way from Calgary. The different kinds of historic carriages are well maintained. It'll be good if they can post the schedule of the movie show time of each day.
Kin C — Google review
Soo many carriages, the restoration work on them is amazing! My favourite was the horse-drawn fire engine.

This Museum is beautiful inside and out.We were welcomed by a very nice lady and the prices aren’t that high to enter into the museum. They even offer Carriage rides to go behind the creek! (totally worth it to be honest)The layout of the museum and how the carriages are displayed is wonderfully done! You can really see the history and evolution of the carriages. The gift shop by the front door is cute, you will definitely take something home with you after experiencing the rich history from this museum.10/10 would definitely go again.Great place to go with family and kids.

This collection was shockingly extensive and high quality!I've been to Cardston several times but this is the first time going to the museum and I was blown away!Kids are free and there are a few things that small kids can experience hands on. Although my kids ran pretty quick through everything and I wished I could have had time to slow down a little more and read things or listen to the tour. You don't have to be a transportation enthusiast to love this place but if you are you might want to bring someone to catch you.The collection of carriages is really...exquisite. I felt like I was blown away more than once with what they had there. It is quite large though with wide aisles so if you have a hard time walking be sure to bring a walker or wheelchair or a stroller for small kids.

What a wonderful experience! The front counter lady was cheerful and welcoming, the manager came up to us during our tour to ensure we were enjoying it, he was informative, kind and a pleasure to visit with.Highly recommend this for an affordable family day

During a last minute trip to Canada, we sort of stumbled upon the carriage museum. What a beautiful and delightful place to walk through. The carriages are fabulous, many nicely restored, some not. We were pleasantly surprised to learn how large the property is, spending far more time there than we anticipated. Anyone who is interested in carriages should be delighted to see this museum.
Pat P — Google review
My sister and I visited the museum today. It is amazing! The museum itself is so informative, exhibits are excellent, there are so many carriages to look at. And the staff are so kind, helpful. The carriage ride was so nice, the staff again were very nice, had lots of stories about the museum and Cardston. We have been to quite a few places in central, southern Alberta, but this one is our favorite! Can't wait to go back!
Debbie P — Google review
Way better than I had expected, this museum is a must, especially if you get a guided tour to explain the highlights and the background, which we did, and it was worth 10x the value than doing a self-guided one.I would consider this one of the top sights and Must Do activities if one is doing the cowboy trail or interested in any part of Alberta's historical past.I highly recommend a visit here, an hour and a half minimum would be good, if you get the guided tour. It’s a huge place with so many carriages with all different histories, very interesting!

I was very impressed with the amount of carraiges that are in the museum. I have a friend that has always spoke highly of the museum and I was finally able to visit it and I was very happy that I had taken the time to visit it and step back in time.

Myself and my sister did a short RV trip and visited this museum. We are interested in history and found it very interesting. Enough so that I returned and volunteered for a couple of weeks. This is a great museum if you want to add some history to your experiences .

Awesome piece of history, really nice carriages and very informative of Alberta's and Canada's history. The staff was very friendly. Was here years ago, really a nice way to spend a part of family day 2024.

I had the pleasure of experiencing a guided tour led by the wonderful Jen. From the moment one of my friends inquired about a tour, the staff was accommodating and friendly, and Jen proved to be an exceptional guide. Her knowledge and eagerness to share her findings and insights added an extra layer of enjoyment to our visit. The museum's collection is simply astounding. With over 270 carriages on display, it offers a comprehensive exploration of the history of transportation. From the humble carriages of farmers to the luxury carriages, each exhibit provides a captivating glimpse into the past. The collection not only highlights the diversity of carriage designs but also educates visitors about the historical context behind them. One particular highlight of the museum is its restoration workshop. Witnessing the meticulous process of repairing and restoring these magnificent carriages was truly fascinating. The dedication and expertise of the craftsmen involved are evident in the impeccable results they achieve. It was a pleasure to learn about the time and care it takes to preserve these historical treasures for future generations.I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to the Remington Carriage Museum!

Sights & Landmarks
Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located approximately 70 kilometers west of Lethbridge, Alberta. The site is dedicated to preserving the Plains Buffalo culture that has lasted for over 6,000 years and features an interpretive center showcasing the Blackfoot Indigenous culture. This cultural landmark tells a story of resourcefulness and ingenuity as the Blackfoot people hunted buffalo by using cliffs near Fort Macleod.
A very humbling experience! Staff was very helpful and cordial. The place is a well of information about the past and how the human race managed to almost extinct the beautiful and elegant animals (though I guess it was needed for survival). The artifacts, related information and the informational videos are a lot to take in, so it's better to spend a good amount of time in there.
Aditi B — Google review
Really interesting historical and cultural site with artifact, Films, educational displays and a walk to the jump. This year there was no cafe which was unfortunate. The gift shop could be much better in terms of variety of items available too. Guided tours would be a good option if someone wanted to pay extra for that. As a local, I would suggest adding new attractions each year like concerts, guest speakers, interactive theatre, touring cultural displays like museums do. It is a must-see for travelers passing through and locals if you haven’t visited it. The stories and layout are very good. You can also save $ using your CF1 card.
Laurie M — Google review
What an amazing place to stop in and see. A very unique piece of history to learn about and see first hand. You climb stairs to the top and see the cliff then come back in and work your way down. Learning all about the history of the jump and indigenous culture. There is even a cool video, that is free to see, that is a reenactment of the buffalo jump being used. How it worked and some of the roles people had when it came to preparing the meat and catching the bison. I would 10/10 recommend stopping. The staff are so friendly!!! We even had a chance to ask a couple questions that we had to one of the staff working there. Incredible location.
Kathleen F — Google review
Interesting natural history here. The museum is on multiple levels built into the side of the hill noting geographical changes over time and the history of the Blackfoot indigenous people here. Ample parking and nice walking trails outside at the top and bottom of the jump.

This is a great experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who is travelling nearby or anyone who has grown up in this area. I loved the people here who gave their time to share their culture and stories. I recommend the film and spend a bit of time outside. If you can definitely plan to visit during the dancing or if there is a special presentation or guest.

If you are visiting Waterton in Alberta,do not miss this historic site.It is in remote area, but the landscape is just stunning. There is a nominal fee to get in.
Gary — Google review
This is an absolute must-see historic site in southern Alberta. In addition to the incredibly beautiful landscape that is stunning to take in, the exhibits are so well curated and truly bring the past to life. We visited as a large group, ranging in age from 5-75, and every single person in our group was fascinated to learn the history of the Indigenous people who lived on this land for thousands of years before us. Across the board, we found the experience powerful, informative, and moving. I’m so glad we visited and look forward to returning.
Jaime-Leigh F — Google review
Through landscapes, exhibits, and diverse programming, you will learn about the cultural significance of this cliff to the Plains People. There is an area where you can walk through the plains, it’s stunning ( 1.2 kilometre hiking trail beneath the cliff ) While you walk through you will notice different flowers, sage and berries. The exhibits inside are very educational. I would allow at least two hours to fully capture the full experience.

We visited Head Smashed in Buffalo jump on a beautifully sunny summer day. There was ample place to park and no line up at the door. We went straight out to the observation deck and took in the spectacular view. The information inside the museum was presented beautifully and there were always lots of staff around to answer any questions you may have.
Connie S — Google review
We have been here now twice and learn something new everytime. This past family day we were happy to experience the addition of extra interpreters, storytellers, and Birds of Prey on display at the site.Take your time and bring snacks. I noticed a lot of people on Google saying HSIBJ does not allow guide dogs. We saw a service dog in the building, but like any other museum, I'm assuming that you have to prove they are a real service dog.We will be back to experience the museum in the summer. A special thanks to Donovan, Quinton, and Conrad for sharing knowledge and being so welcoming today.

If you've read some of my other reviews, I use phrases like truly amazing, absolutely fabulous and bloody marvelous. I'm beginning to sound like a broken record but I cannot help it. Sometimes, I'm at a lose for original words and default to the well-worn terms. All three phrases apply to Head Smashed-In.I wish I had a better camera because the photos I took inside, do not do the place justice. The museum is a marvel but the grounds are equally amazing. The view from the top is breath-taking and I like the walking trails at the bottom.
Daniel C — Google review
The only downside of this place is the parking situation. You can drop off people at the top of the loop, but parking is downhill. Unfortunately, they lost funding precovid, which allowed them to have a shuttle back in the day, but that is gone now. So keep that in mind when you are going.First Nations get in free which was wonderful.Kids under 4 are free, adults are $15 each, and they offer family passes. The set up is meant to be top to bottom. So to begin you take one elevator to 4th floor, down a hallway and then a second upto the 6th floor. From there, you walk out the doors and along the paved path to the lookout area. They have telescopes to survey the land and see some of the areas where the Buffalo jump would've taken place which was cool. They had some gardens which housed a variety of natural grasses and plants from wild juniper and sage. While at the lookout we got to see some mule deer and a meandering fox.Anyone who wears the red vests work their and provide amazing information.Once you return back in, you can see a variety of different exhibits that detail the hunt, the tools used, and what they did with the meat, hide, and other natural resources. They had many exhibits on the Blackfoot people and part of the cultural and the after settlers arrived and what they brought. There was a really cool video to watch and other different interactive displays. The bottom floor you can see different animal that have been taxidermied, and the excavation process.Really neat and so happy we finally went out and saw it!

WowReally amazing view there!!It was very beautiful the grass blowing in the wind. There are lots of view points everywhere, and we had a lunch on the picnic table.

Very well explained. The short video helps us understand how people used to hunt buffalos. Outside, the view is beautiful. I highly recommend this museum.

I have visited several buffalo jumps with my study of Native American culture. Though not as large as the Madison Buffalo Jump in Montana, there is a reason that Head-Smashed in Buffalo Jump has been designated as a UNESCO site in southern Alberta, The cliff, made of fragile sandstone is protected from exploring further than the 200 yard walkway that leads you close to the edge. From this vantage point you look out over the broad and beautiful Oldman River Valley where the Natives camped and processed buffalo meat for 6000 years. The original fall off the cliff's edge has been shortened by 20-30 meters from the accumulation of buffalo bones that had piled up after thousands of years. There are six floors of finely curated artifacts, interpretive displays, and paintings. There are elevators to all floors. There is also a theater that plays thhroughout the day a 15 minute video of a renactment of a buffalo hunt. There is a cafe and plenty of restrooms conveniently located.
Loring W — Google review
This has a very important place in Alberta, Canada and North American history. It's a reminder of that earlier time in North America, before the Europeans arrived, when the people of the land, the Blackfoot tribe and others, lived with and off the land. At this site you will learn how the Buffalo we're used to help feed, clothe and provide a way to survive the winter. The displays walk the visitor through the history of the land and its people. It's one of the few existing sites that was once used as a buffalo hunting ground. The site is still actively being researched by archeologists and you can walk an interpretive trail, which has working sites.

This experience was an enjoyable place to spend a few hours. There are some trails outside and a wonderful interpretive centre inside. We packed a lunch in a cooler and enjoyed the scenery on the picnic table. I learned a lot and the staff were friendly.

An interesting and informative historical site. We saw the Drumming and Dancing performed by First Nations Drummers and Dancers and learned that each dancer makes their own regalia (not costume). Well worth a visit. The cafeteria was closed but they had catering outside, the burgers and stew were good.

The Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden is a picturesque outdoor space that seamlessly blends Canadian and Japanese landscaping styles, featuring water elements, forests, and meadows. Located adjacent to Henderson Lake Park in Lethbridge, this garden was designed by an architect hailing from Osaka and built by artisans from Kyoto as a symbol of the enduring friendship between Japan and Canada. Visitors can enjoy strolling through the serene surroundings or partake in cultural events such as tea ceremonies, Sumo Sumo Sundays or yoga classes.
What a wonderful afternoon we spent meandering through the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. No rush! We took it slow in a zen like fashion. The beautiful scenery enticing us to sit and relax. Listening to the water falling and making it's way through the garden. With our entrance fee we received a choice of strawberry or mocha cookie with mocha iced tea or orange juice. Very yummy! If you stop in Lethbridge, definitely go check this out!! On the way put we checked the gift store! Lots to see and buy 🙂

The garden is a small yet well-maintained Japanese Friendship garden with friendly staff. Visitors are required to purchase a ticket at the centre before the garden entrance, which includes a complimentary beverage. However, some visitors, including myself, may have a preference for a lower ticket price without the inclusion of beverages. It may not be the most suitable environment for toddlers who enjoy running on the grass or pebbles, but it is accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. Our decision to visit was due to passing through Lethbridge; however, we do not recommend making a special trip, as the entire garden can be explored in approximately 10 minutes.

Nice enough gardens, but veri lacking in colors. For the admission cost, we were disappointed. If it weren't for the small drumming show we would have been gone in less than 30 minutes. And the rules are a little ridiculous. Don't walk on the grass and rocks. YOU MUST STAY ON THE PATHS . They need to improve the scenery a little.

Beautiful garden! You can take nice photos at any spots. And it's so relaxed to walk along the garden trail. But make sure you purchase tickets at the Bunka Centre first before you walk to the entrance of this garden.

The perfect place for a staff Christmas party and then grab a hot chocolate to go see the lights. The drummers were excellent too! Fun to ring the bell. There needs to be a bench or two where people can stop and rest as people in our group had mobility issues but still loved the walk.

Agreed to other reviews, its a small place but you can hang out for much longer. Took us half an hour to 45mins to feel and enjoy the garden. Then we head out to the restaurant for another 15-30mins.If you’re from out of town and visiting during summer might as well bring your swimming gears because right beside the park is the Henderson swimming pool. That way you are not wasting travel time and effort when you get here. I would advise to please plan your trip.We will be coming back for the light show 😉

Beautiful and serene. While we were there an origami class was held. The coffee/tea and cookie were a wonderful treat. The shop has selected items, and there is a lot of cultural information everywhere. Definitely worth a visit.

Japanese garden not very Japanese. Very small walking crescent shaped trail. Start to finish takes about 10-15 minutes. There are interesting spots which are picture worthy. Going there once is good. They have winter lights in December.People who are planning to go more than once, annual membership is the best.

Visited Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden recently, it’s an awesome place! So calm and pretty, decorated with colourful lights. Staff is super nice and the garden looks great. Must visit for a chill time.

This place is beautiful. It is small but if you go to sit and take it all in. It has a calming effect on the soul. Admission is purchased at the building before the garden entrance. If you stop back at the garden after entry you get a drink and gluten free stroopwaffle with the purchase of admission. On a hot day this was a blessing. There is also more information about the creation of the Japanese Gardens inside the cafe building. History of Japanese Canadians in Alberta. The trials and tribulations they endured during World War II.

I had a great visit early in the morning when there was only staff there. I would highly recommend visiting at an off-peak time. The garden is small but peaceful and very green. It would not be the same experience if busy. Despite a miscommunication in ticket prices by the ticket staff, I had a good visit and would come again. The operations manager was friendly and helped clear up the issues by email. Do ring the bell, it is surprisingly easy to do so and create a loud sound. Very fun.

Quick and easy to check out, wouldn't take more than an hour, but you will never want to leave the place. Its beautiful, calm and refreshing. Well maintained and worth a visit. Tickets are cheaper after 5 pm and please note that the tickets are sold in the visitor center located outside the garden. There is a bell which you can ring. The staff are really friendly. Rest rooms are located in the tea house.

Great Japanese garden! Cool attractions to do if you are in Lethbridge. We took the annual place cause it is worth it when you are a family. Otherwise I find it's a little expensive for just one visit. I recommend to visit in spring and autumn.

A huge fish suddenly flipped his tailfin and splashed as I glided the kayak into a seldom used area on the west side of the lake. It was the size of my entire leg.I later learned it was a northern pike.Flocks of little blue dragon flies clustered together during mating season.Park benches and lots of shade in grassy areas.Walking bridges, walking paths, and quite contemplative places.Beautiful Park. Can do without the very dirty lake water.

Bar U Ranch National Historic Site is a living museum that provides visitors the chance to experience ranching skills in a hands-on manner. The site features heritage building walks and horse-drawn wagon rides, which take you back in time to explore its two dozen buildings including a post office, corral, cookhouse, smithy, and slaughterhouse. Bar U Ranch was one of the world's largest commercial ranches at its peak in 1882 with over 160,000 acres of land.
Living in Calgary all my life, I had never stopped here …. until today. We finished camping further south and pulled in to this National Historical Site. It’s still a working ranch. But, quite small compared to the original size and scope of the ranch. Great staff who are so knowledgeable and friendly. Amazing displays in original buildings. We went for a wagon ride and learned so much history about Southern Alberta that is never taught in school! Even my 12 yr old enjoyed his time at the Bar U Ranch.

I decided to stop in on my way to Montana. Very glad I did, it was a nice time to wander around the property look at the buildings, and talk to the staff that work there. The wagon ride was excellent as well as the campfire coffee. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area.

This place is full of history and culture from the indigenous people all the way to modern day ranch. Multiple ownership and they have left a lot of treasure to be discovered. You can walk inside ranch and visit multiple buildings for different functions. There is a complimentary wagon ride so don’t miss out. Plan at least 1-1.5 hour at this place as it’s huge and need time to explore around. The staff in here is very informative and friendly they glad to answer all kinds of question you have about this place. Parking is free and always have empty spot. Ticket is about $13 per adult, if you have park pass maybe eligible for discount you can ask the front counter.

Very well done historic museum of ranching life in the Foothills. Most of the staff are friendly. One middle aged lady working at the front desk was quite rude to us (Sunday, Sep 1st), when we showed her pictures of both sides of our valid, annual Discovery Pass for admission, which we have on display in our vehicle as required. Has never been an issue before, at Bar U or other Parks. The physical pass can't be in two places at once, but she insisted we had to show it to her. Wasted time going back to the vehicle for it, when a picture of the signed pass should have sufficed, as told to us by staff there and at other sites.

It’s a really nice site, very quiet out there. And some nice viewsIt only takes a couple of hours to wander through everything that’s out here. I’d recommend attending during an event.

They have several historical buildings. Staff are very friendly. The gift shop is very nice with great indigenous selections. We talked to Bruce (the staff), who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would love to visit again and spend more time there.

Located in Nanton, the Bomber Command Museum of Canada is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. The museum showcases three WWII bombers and various training aircraft, along with aviation art, informative videos, and archives. Visitors can explore the well-maintained displays and aircraft while enjoying fascinating films and library materials accessible through the museum's website. Additionally, the museum offers picnic tables in the adjacent park for a relaxing break.
Best $10 you can spend. An amazing experience. This is a must-see, even if you are not an aircraft enthusiast. Such a well-mainatined, history-rich place. There are interactive displays that kids would enjoy to.I donated more than admission and urge everyone to do so too - we must support places like this.

Absolutely brilliant museum, thoroughly enjoyed walking around the many exhibits, checking out the inside of the Lancaster & absorbing the huge amount of information. The staff were awesome too!

Truly fantastic. Was here last summer with my husband. The displays are amazing. I especially liked the Great Escape, Dam Busters (I bought the T-shirt) and Nose Art exhibits. The restored aircraft are a sight to behold. The Virtual Reality Experience (1943 Berlin Blitz) is well worth the added price.

My son and I went here for a birthday treat. He is very into WWII aircraft, and the experience was amazing. The staff was kind and knowledgeable, and the extra experiences (tour of the Avro Lancaster for $3, VR experience for $10) were well worth the pricing. Ample parking, clean restrooms, and many, many displays where you can interact with the aircraft. We will be back on June 8 to see the Lancaster engines run!

Fascinating place preserving the history and honoring the memory of Canadian heroes who fought for our freedom. The highlight of the visit was an impromptu presentation by volunteers working on restoring old engines and planes.

Fee is by donation of your choice. Be generous. The museum requires tremendous maintenance. All displays and aircraft are in superb condition.Films from archives that are not seen outside the museum. Library material can be viewed via their website. Fascinating films in many locations throughout the museum.Interesting photographs and quick to read displays. The display designer is talented! Picnic tables in the park next to the hanger.

If you have time, your in Nanton and you like planes. Stop here! For a small museum they pack a good punch. The Lancaster is by far the drawing card but doesn't really overshadow the others. My kids love the simulators there and watching them rebuild the next aircraft exhibits. I wish there was a little more hands-on but they do provide a lot of demos.
Derek — Google review
Nice aviation museum, with plenty of aircraft maintained in perfect shape by a team of passionate volunteers. The centerpiece of the collection is the Lancaster bomber (and the set of special bombs that made it famous, like the rolling bomb for the dambuster mission and the 10000 kg bomb). On specific occasions, the plane is rolled outside, and engines are turned on: what a show! The dedication of these guys is incredible, they are currently restoring a Mosquito and are planning on expanding the museum. Easy parking locations outside and lots of souvenirs available.

Okotoks Erratic, located in the town of Okotoks, is a massive glacial boulder that weighs around 16,500 tonnes and stands at 9 meters tall. It is believed to have been left by glacial activity thousands of years ago and is considered a remarkable sight and an iconic landmark of Okotoks. The rock landed in its current location during a rockslide between 10,000 to 30,000 years ago.
Nice rock. Impressive how it has moved all the way from Jasper. Nice little thing to see on the way. Not a lot of people.
Rasmus K — Google review
Really nothing to hike or do other than just see this rock. But relaxing. Just chill and enjoy nature.

Great place makes you wonder where did these giant rocks came from. The whole area is quite scenic sorrounded by open feilds and hills and mountains. I have attached images and video with details on how did these two big rocks came in middle of nowhere. Kids had fun chassing those ground moles. The fields near by had horses and it was great. There is ample parking, washrooms and garbage bins. Even accessible wheelchair ramps. This is just a few mins from Okotoks and its a must visit spot. Follow me for more reviews.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟"Okotoks Rock Erratic: A Must-Stop for Families! 🌄🐾If you're looking for a fun and educational stop for the whole family, Okotoks Rock Erratic is it! Nestled in the heart of Alberta, this natural wonder offers a unique experience that kids will love. One of the highlights for the little ones is the prairie dogs! 🐿️ Picture a real-life game of "whack-a-mole" playing out before your eyes. The excitement on their faces as they watch these adorable creatures scurry around is priceless. But that's not all; Okotoks Rock Erratic is steeped in fascinating history. Did you know that this massive rock was originally part of a mountain formation in what is now Jasper National Park? About 30,000 years ago, during the last ice age, a spectacular rockslide occurred, sending debris onto a glacier in the Athabasca River valley. As the glacier melted and retreated, it carried this colossal rock, among others, across the prairies, leaving behind this incredible geological marvel. So, if you're planning a family road trip or just looking for a fun day out, make sure to add Okotoks Rock Erratic to your itinerary. It's a blend of natural beauty, wildlife excitement, and geological wonder that will leave everyone in awe!" 🚗👨👩👧👦🌟@canadawithkids fb

What to do within half an hour of Calgary❓If you pass by this town, you must come and touch the magical flying rock of the Rocky Mountains~✔️ Although Okotoks Erratic is a small attraction, this rare giant rock is believed to be left by glacial activity thousands of years ago, making it a remarkable sight and a iconic landmark of Okotoks❗️✔️ Okotoks Erratic is a massive glacial boulder, towering at 9 meters and weighing 16,500 tons, resembling a mini version of the Stonehenge!✔️ "Prairie Dog Haven": It's full of cute prairie dogs 🐿️, just like the real-life version of the "Whack-a-Mole" game we played in the park as kids. They pop out of their burrows, munch on food, and stand up to watch the crowd, super adorable 😍✔️ "Hiking Adventure": You can head to the Big Rock Trail 🏞️, meandering along the river's edge. Along the way, you'll enjoy expansive views of the prairie and even see a small horse ranch 🐎.

The Saskatoon Farm truly is a hidden gem nestled just off the highway. It encompasses a charming restaurant, a delightful bakery, and a sprawling farmers market. During our visit, we had the pleasure of exploring the diverse offerings, which included a pack of frozen waffles, delectable muffins, and a bounty of fresh produce including succulent blueberries and cherries. The abundance of vegetables was truly impressive. When the weather is on your side, taking a leisurely stroll around the grounds makes for a wonderful afternoon activity. The restaurant primarily boasts an array of mouthwatering Mexican dishes, peppered with a few American options. Our taste buds were treated to a delightful symphony of flavors, and the beverages were equally delightful. Although it's worth noting that the drinks arrived lukewarm without ice. If you prefer a chilled drink, I recommend requesting some ice to enhance your experience.Beyond the culinary delights, Saskatoon Farm is a multifaceted establishment that combines the allure of an arts and crafts market, a plant nursery, a farm market overflowing with fresh fruits and vegetables, and even a charming cowboy-themed park. Our visit coincided with the solstice market, where merchants gathered to create a vibrant and lively atmosphere. In sum, Saskatoon Farm is a true gem that pleasantly surprised us with its multifarious offerings. Whether you're seeking delectable treats, a leisurely stroll, or an eclectic market experience, this is the perfect destination to satiate your senses and enjoy a great day out

For years now we've got by the signs on the highway, thinking to ourselves "one of these days we'll have to go pick Saskatoon berries there."This year, we finally made it there, for the summer solstice fair. What a pleasant surprise!Saskatoon farm is actually a hybrid arts and crafts market, plant nursery, fruits & vegetables farm/market, cowboy themed park. And during the solstice market it was filled merchants. And to Crown it all, the view from The Cliff at the end of The village main street was beautiful.

This spot is a fun little “everyone friendly” getaway from the city. It features predominantly mom and pop hobby businesses selling the usual you’d expect to see at a craft market. Homemade spice blends, hot sauce, crafts, home decors, etc…There is also fresh produce for sale at great prices. A decent selection of food and drink vendors as well. There is nothing particularly unique about the contents of the market, but the backdrop is absolutely beautiful.I enjoyed the little pockets of live entertainment that are set up throughout the market.

Such a hidden gem! In love with this place. Great variety of local produce, plants and planters, frozen foods, baked items. Lots to see, can easily spend 3-4 hours strolling around the place. There is a lovely viewpoint at the end of the farm. Well-maintained and affordable. Food at the restaurant was okay for the price (huge portions, but bland taste), we liked baked goods and coffee from the cafe outside better.

The Christmas market was so fun! This was my first time visiting the Saskatoon Farm and what a great first experience! There were so many amazing vendors, such yummy food and great gifts (treat yourself too!) - truly something for everyone. Santa and Mrs. Claus were there, taking photos and bringing cheer. It was quite busy but the staff were very helping directing cars in the parking lots so we moved through quickly. We also bought our tickets in advance and downloaded them beforehand. Highly recommend - already looking forward to next year!

We went here for some blueberry picking and we enjoyed it! The farm also offers fresh vegetables and fruits. It's kinda nostalgic because the farm reminds me of our home: the planting of veggies and pets. Their black cat is sooo adorable and friendly! 🐈⬛

Such a great spot to visit with beautiful expansive views! We especially love the Fall decor and the farm animals. The restaurant has good value items. The sour dough bread and bakery items are yummy!

A very nice farmers market. Beautiful country store. They advertise as a place to pick apples - which we assumed to mean an orchard with different types of apples. The apples we found were very small and looked like crab apples. There are few trees and we met several people who came to pick apples that left their buckets and went home. We didn't see any signs about the orchard other than what we found so if there is more I don't know where they would be. It should be advertised as a country store or small farmers market. There are opportunities to pick Saskatoon berries in season and I believe cherries and blueberries.

A Must-Visit for Families and Nature Lovers:We recently visited The Saskatoon Farm at 80181 338 Ave E #20, Foothills County, AB T1S 4S3, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. This location offers a plethora of adventures that cater to all age groups, ensuring a memorable outing for families. Our visit included stops at the bakery, garden center, and Tortoise Town. The bakery's fresh-baked vegetarian sweets were remarkable – a real treat for the taste buds. We also spent extra time at the cliff overlooking the convergence of the Sheep River and Highwood River, which provided stunning views and was perfect for photography enthusiasts like us.The farm has numerous activities for children and older people, making it an ideal spot for creating cherished family memories. I highly recommend visiting The Saskatoon Farm at least once a year during summer or early/late summer, especially if you're looking to enjoy nature without venturing too far into the woods.

One of my favorite farm to visit every year. You can spend the whole day in this farm. Aside from a tons of beautiful flowers, plants, vegetables and herbs. They have some animals that kids would love to see like the giant tortoise, chicken, and more that they can feed.Lots of local products to buy from best honey, jams and more! Their restaurant is highly recommended for their freshness and delicious food.

This place has a fantastic farmer market. They sell their own vegetables, fruits, berries, and herbs. Prices are ok, quality is superb. The Farm allows you to pick and buy some varieties of fruits and berries. Today we were busy picking sour cherries and Saskatoon berries. This place has a wonderful open public greenhouse with beautiful flowers and trees. They grow figs there!Nice restaurant, pizzeria, cafe and shop inside.Kids have lots of places to play, watch farm animals and have fun.Love this farm and plan to visit again soon.

If you love Mexican food and locally grown food that doesn’t have pesticides, you need to come here!! Their Mexican restaurant is unbelievable, the bakery has so many delicious goods like homemade sourdough and again, the veggies (fill-a-bag + UPick) CANNOT be beat. This Saskatoon farm in my opinion is a hidden gem. It has so much to offer from its charm, its beauty, the outdoor atmosphere! Farmers markets, all your planting and fresh herbs! The Saskatoon farm steps you back in a time where life was simpler. The fresh bakery, amazing ice cream and little shops will blow your mind and let’s not forget about the turtle exhibit. It is a breathtaking beautiful place. I recommend a visit.

My family have been coming here for the past few years... without me! Today, I finally got to do so. It reminds me of Davidson farm in b.c. but a smaller one. I think I like this better because it's more intimate. All the old stuff they got on displays just appeals to me.I could imagine how festive it is during summer and Christmas time.

We were out on the Saturday of the long weekend and were amazed at the scope of everything available at the Saskatoon Farm. While we were only there to pick saskatoon berries, we were impressed by the attention to creating a beautiful experience for the guests. There is a garden centre, market, general store, bakery, and restaurant, as well as carefully landscaped grounds upon entry to this working farm. We arrived mid-morning and had no difficulty finding parking and making our way to the berry-picking area, where we paid our entry fee and quickly filled two buckets. The farm was busy and there were families throughout the berry patch. However, we were able to find our own little corner and filled our buckets in about an hour. We were able to make our way to the exit, wash our hands at the hand-washing station, and then pay for our berries without waiting in line, despite a growing crowd. It was a well-organized, thoughtful experience and, though we appreciate quieter and smaller farms, would certainly consider returning due to the overall experience curated at the Saskatoon Farm.

We popped into the Saskatoon Farm for thier summer Solstice party last weekend. The weather great, the service wonderful, but the farm is incredible. If you haven't been out, please go. Lots to see and buy and taste!! This is a great place to start your Christmas shopping. The owners and staff have done a great job, and they all love working here and it shows. Check it out!! It's a real hidden gem.

Weve been here a couple of times and we learned a couple of important things to make sure you get the most in your visit:- make sure to grab parking as soon as you see one. The furthest spill parking is the first ones you will see and if it is full mosy probably the nearer ones will be.- if you want to purchase fresh produce best to plan your visit early (think before 12, better before 11)- timing is crucial. Saskatoon farm will be open offering plants, herbs, produce and food and other merchandise. Usually the offerings are available all throughout the season but Plants and Herbs I prefer to buy pre upick as there are better options. There will be more produce july onwards. Their bakery is open all through the season but sourdoughs are only offered on weekends.

Beautiful farm with blooming flowers of every imaginable colours which Immediately lifts your mood with a visit. Plenty of free parking with free entry and amazingly fresh veggies for sale. The viewpoints overlooking the farm was astounding too! Also, the cantina serves up really amazing Mexican food; everything we tried on the menu was superb so don’t worry about any choices made on the food! The park contains a variety of historically accurate reconstructed buildings, as well as live and working exhibits of classic cars, horses and carts. There are also plenty of attractions for children including a steam engine ride and a paddlewheel tour boat.

Heritage Park in Calgary is a fantastic destination for a family outing. The park stands out for its welcoming policy on food and drinks, allowing visitors to bring their own and enjoy a picnic-like atmosphere—a rare perk that saves a lot on expenses compared to other parks where you can easily spend over $100 just on meals.Though tickets are on the pricier side at $36 for adults and $26 for kids, the experience is worth every penny. The park is meticulously managed, from parking to rides and everything in between. It’s incredibly clean, with free water fountains and spotless washrooms, ensuring a comfortable visit.Highly recommended for a day of fun and relaxation!

The Alberta Day (on 2/9/2023) celebration was held here! There was a drone show on 9pm. And throughout the day there’re a lot of booths such as live music show, kid corners, food trucks for you to enjoy. Besides, it’s a good opportunity for me to enter the heritage park for free! Normally there is a fee $30-40 for each entry.

Really enjoyed coming here. It's like Disneyland, but better, because you can actually learn something about actual frontier life and how Alberta came about as opposed to some fantasized version of how things were. Plus, the Vaudevillian performances were really entertaining. There was something that happened, I don't want to go into the details, but I want to take a chance to thank the staff for handling the incident professionally and being very kind to me and my party.

Excellent place to picnic and walk. The staff is great and very knowledgeable of their location, Canada and the park itself. You can ask plenty of questions and they will answer cheerfully. Summer: sunblock and water needed. Be prepared to walk or ask for the mobility bus at the ticket booth.

I liked the park area. Convenient for children, lots of different entertainment. In such hot weather there were mini sprayers throughout the park, there are also fountains and there are clean toilets. We couldn’t find a place to fill a bottle with water, of course you can buy it, but I would like to get some.We were there on a weekday, there weren’t very many people.we took a ride on a ship and a steam locomotive, the children were tired and delighted. All liked it

This park is an amazingly cool park even for everyone. It's such a nicely kept living museum with lots to see and even more to do. We spent 6 hours in the park and still didn't see everything. From the preserved gas pumps in Gasoline Alley to the living breathing farm with animals. The staff were fantastic and were so well versed in their knowledge they could answer any questions you had. The restaurants served delicious food and you even get some advice from the mayor reading the newspaper.

I really enjoyed this place. Wow! If you have children, they will enjoy it as well. I recommend going on the steam locomotive at Shepard Station or riding the S.S. Moyie first (in the same area) then do the other after. After experiencing these attractions, wander the property. Cool off with a local brew at the Wainwright Hotel & Bar Room.

Truly amazing experience! All employees were very friendly and welcoming. So much things to do and have fun. We were visiting Calgary for the first time and Heritage Park was the best part of the trip. My son had a blast riding a real steam train. All the family had great time.

Great place to take the family for the day. The only place with admission you get to ride the coolest train in the west. Loads of little house/building with employees dressed to the time period. The employees are very friendly and do a great job of telling what it was like during that period of time. A sure must see for anyone visiting Calgary.

A must visit when in Calgary, especially if you’re a history buff. Very unique experience in which majority of the buildings are authentic and the workers inside are really knowledgeable. Make sure to leave enough time to visit the historic car exhibition as well as the old town. We were there from 2pm until closing and it still wasn’t enough time to fully visit every building as it truly is massive and we under estimated the size of the park.

Heritage Park has become a place of Nastolgia for us. We currently live in Halifax, NS, but we had a few years in Calgary when my kids were younger. It felt like Heritage grew more magical with time. I really appreciate how consistent the place is. It's so well maintained and feels so wholesome. Being able to bring food and drinks creates a perfect family-friendly environment, but also having different stores to purchase some treats is a bonus.

An absolutely wonderful place! The ticket price is well worth it, as it covers more than just a visit to a village—it's an immersive experience. During your visit, you'll watch over five short theater performances, each lasting at least 30 minutes, depicting the rich history of the area. The actors and actresses are incredibly talented, making the stories come to life. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and felt that one day isn't enough to fully appreciate everything this place has to offer. The staff members are all kind and helpful, providing excellent explanations about the site, especially the lady in the mine. You can begin your journey from the parking lot by taking a charming streetcar ride.Unfortunately, the gift shops didn’t have any magnets from this village, which was a bit disappointing.

Heritage Park Historical Village, is one of Canada's largest and most well-preserved living history museums. It opened its doors in 1964 and spans over 127 acres, offering a comprehensive glimpse into Western Canada's past. The park features over 180 exhibits and structures, including a working steam train, historical buildings, and interactive displays that depict life from the 1860s to the 1950s. Heritage Park is dedicated to preserving the region's rich heritage, showcasing everything from Indigenous cultures and early settler life to the industrial advancements that shaped modern Alberta. It serves not only as a tourist attraction but also as an educational resource, providing visitors with immersive experiences that bring history to life. I highly recommend you guys all come check this big huge beautiful park. Additionally, there is actually great food. A lot of fun amazing animals and people who work here the hiring manager here must be proud of himself as all their employees working here do not show any attitude. Unfortunately the steam train was not working due to water restrictions. If you walk anywhere, you will see beautiful water showing the city or the mountains

I reality enjoyed this place. There’s a first area where you go inside and you can see all historical element of the city, such as cars, petrol stations and more. Then there is a park, that can take between 2-3 hours to see it whole. I suggest to go early because it will close at 5pm.It’s plenty of activities to do: there’s an amusement park (free) inside, there’re activities that you may interact with people in the village re-built as the past, there’s a train and even a bus or a tractor that you can join to have a tour. The cost is 36,75$ each and the car park is free for just 1h and half.

As a history buff, I have visited many pioneer villages, national historic sites, and heritage parks across Canada. The Calgary Heritage Park, in my opinion, is among the best I have gone to.Despite having my visit marred by rain, I still had fascinating conversations with the Heritage Park staff who provided great historical background, as well as riding the train (heaps of fun!) and visiting many of the historical buildings. If you enjoy learning about the settlement of Canada's west, then this is a must-see site if you are in Calgary.

Great historical experience of the past in Alberta. Take a ride on the steam train or on the paddle boat. Go to the Amusement park and ride some games. Buy some food from the Bakery, Vulcan Ice Cream or Amusement Concession.

🏰 Huge historical museum which I liked more than any other attraction in Calgary 😅. If you are going to visit this place, I would allocate 2 to 3 hours of your time at a minimum. ⛲ Here you will find the very old neighborhoods of the old Calgary that used to be, in fact there are a huge amount of different buildings 🛖 and separate little museums on the grounds. The train station, as well as the miners' mines.🎪 There's a whole entertainment complex for the kids, lots of different retro style stores.🎠 I kind of plunged into the time when it was all there, maximum immersion in the old world. I almost forgot to say that there is also an old restored 🚂 train that can take you around the museum (park). Here you can also find different animals 🐎 in a certain area of the museum. I loved this place so much, I recommend anyone who in Calgary for a couple days to visit this place! 🔥🧖🏽

I recently attended an organizational event at Heritage Park, and even though the park was closed to the general public, it was a fantastic experience. I was pleasantly surprised by the sheer size of the park—it spans an extremely large area with realistic setups that depict life in Calgary many generations ago. It’s essentially an entire town set up in a historical format, making it a fascinating place to explore. One highlight of my visit was the veterinary area, where I got to see how veterinary medicine was practiced back in the day. Our event was set up in the amusement park section, and I had the opportunity to try several rides, including the Ferris wheel. The staff were incredibly kind, polite, and gracious, ensuring we had a memorable experience.I also noticed a train track that circles the park and regretted not having the chance to ride the trains. I’ll definitely have to come back to Heritage Park next time I’m in Calgary. I highly recommend this park for families and anyone with an interest in history.

This is such a wonderful place to visit. Everyone here always makes sure that you are having a good time. Everyone is in costume and stays true to the character they are portraying. There is a steam engine train you can ride as well at the steam ship that goes out along the reservoir. There are tractor rides and horse-drawn wagon rides, all of which are free with admission. There are midway rides for people of all ages. The general store and ice cream shop sell delicious treats, and the bakery is always making fresh baked items for sale. Every exhibit is authentic and has a plaque to describe its original location. There is so much to do that you can easily spend a full day here and not see everything there is to see.

The Calgary Stampede is an annual rodeo that features cowboy-style entertainment and exhibits. It is a popular event with over a million people attending each year.
Very nice, this was my first rodeo, it will definitely not be my last. I had a really good time in spite of people asking to be let out- back in- let out- back in-.... If you know you are going to have to keep moving you should get an outside seat. Smh

Having lived out here for 12 years I’ve only been to Stampede twice, with last week on Friday parade day being one of those. After two long years of the pandemic, it was nice to feel the energy and the excitement, and the rhythm of the music at the stampede grounds. It can get overly crowded for sure and unfortunately there’s always the ones that don’t know how to behave properly, but mostly overall people were having a good time. That’s what it should be about. I have to leave one star off because I don’t agree with the use of animals in entertainment, and inevitably there are always animals that get killed at this event which is an aspect I detest.

The Calgary Stampede is a celebration of Western culture and heritage. From the thrilling rodeo events to the vibrant parade, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The food selection is diverse, featuring everything from classic fair treats to unique local delicacies.Great entertainment, live music, and plenty of activities for families. Whether you're a local or a visitor, the Stampede is a must-see event that captures the spirit of Calgary in a fun and festive way!

The greatest outdoor show on earth. Calgary really has the best summer and its mainly thanks to events like Calgary Stampede, showcasing the inner cowboy of the Calgarians. Events here include concerts, bull riding, horse show, indiginous shows, motorcycle shows, fireworks, amusement park, games and prizes, national anthem and flag etc. Must reason to visit or live in Calgary. Besides the Calgary Stampede, these grounds also hold halloween and other events.

2023 Calgary Stampede, first impressions is that the show has a lot going on and a lot of people attending. You just got to find your fun among it all. I would recommend the evening show on the first day.

Took in the 2023 Rodeo finals from the infield. It was an awesome show of dedication. The crowd was invested and the competition was fierce.Near perfect performances created champions that the crowd roared for.The midway is always a gong show. Crazy numbers of people. All the lineups you could ever want to wait in. And the food, you'll be glad you tried it but wish you didn't.The livestock and the shows and everything that stampede brings to Calgary is world class. And the Coke stage is always a must.Took in Mother Mother this year and it was just an awesome show.Plenty of people hate on the Stampede because it makes the city a little crazy with traffic, people and events, but it's really truly something to experience.

I like to visit Calgary Stampede. It’s a wonderful outdoor show with lots of great activities as well as massive. Highly recommended those who are in Calgary 🇨🇦 in summer ( July 05-15).

We travelled from England to enjoy the Calgary Stampede and it did not disappoint. Plenty of food venders and drink venders. The stages were also great. Loved the live music. We also really enjoyed the rodeo and the evening show with the fireworks was truly wicked!

One of the best events in Calgary. Celebration of 2 weeks with lots of food stalls, fun and adventure rides, games and what not. Best time of the year in Calgary that sets it’s foot with parade in which different talents showcase there uniqueness.

One must go to this stampede at least once if not every time. My favourite were the motorcycle stunts featured on a particular evening that I could not shoot but it was thrilling. Display by the Canadian army is also my favourite. There is something for everyone. Food , rides, children rides, face painting, betting, gambling, clubbing , alcohol, performing arts, live music and the high list spectacular fireworks. It’s very very busy during Calgary stampede but the joy is sometimes in the crowd n rush. Still the management of such a massive scale event is great. Everything flows smoothly. Buy tickets at the gate or online and you are zoomed into the GM huge grounds . Oh I forgot to mention the horse show. I missed it but I was happy just to see the stables. Must go place

We were glad we went, and a two day visit was enough! One giant theme park, which is great for the kids, and also so many food and drinks vendors. It seems to be about, sell, sell, sell, rather than about conservation, compassion, and preservation of tradition. However, saying all of that, it is the biggest outdoor show we've ever been to...

Such a fun event! They have everything you can think of when it comes to a rodeo and a carnival! Definitely a great way to get your steps in and have some fun fair food too!

One and only of its kind in entire North America if I am not wrong. You got food, rides, cultural activities, music and what not. Remember it is for 10 days only so make sure you visit it at least once since it is worth it.I bought a ticket online and it was 90 bucks worth.

Indeed it is the greatest outdoor show on the earth. The place is extermly busy. Plan your visit with an umbrella or a poncho since the weather during this month is completely unpredictable. Great place for kids to have tons of fun.Rodeo and the evening show are the best of the attraction. Chuk race, relay race is great fun.

After a 17 year gap, we decided to check out the Calgary Stampede - we always enjoy watching coverage on TV but it’s fun to walk the midway and grounds and see live shows. The daily schedule helped us to plan the day and we lucked out by getting in free before 11:00am - not sure why but 🤠. We enjoyed: the RCMP Musical Ride - a proud Canadian tradition and celebration of 150 years of service; the illusionist, Stampede Show Riders, River Camp village with Indigenous dancers, market place displays, animal displays, show band, and Canine Stars. Searching for gluten free options was a bit of a chore but we found some poutine, dole whip and caramel apples. 😋see pictures. We ended our day with a T&S concert at the Coca Cola stage which is an amazing new-and-improved outdoor stage venue. We are 50+ so didn’t partake in rides or much after 10:30 but after 12 hours we had a full day!

Five stars for the rodeo! Absolutely fantastic! The rest....the kids entertainment is crammed in a little corner. So many children and parents waiting to see Paw Patrol and they have the tiniest little stage and seating area. They can't join in or even see half the time. Waited 1.5 hours to watch a 20 minute show because last year our son was at the back of a huge crowd and could not see a thing.Doesn't really feel like a celebration of western culture, just a 10 day fancy dress party aimed at people that will spend a ton of money on alcohol. Not really family friendly at all (except for kids day (morning) which is really good).I will state again though that the rodeo is fab! Wish we didn't have to go through the rowdy, drunken crowds to get out of the stampede grounds though and back to our vehicle.

Rodeo was alot of fun! Going as a family you need 2 days at the stampede to really enjoy everything the park has to offer. ( rides, agriculture arena, dog show and entertainment, food, rodeo, fireworks, evening shows)We had a great time and will be back next year!** Buy the day pass not stamps!! or rides will cost you a fortune.

A great place to spend the day. There are rides for all age groups. They have plenty of spots to grab a bite to eat or to sit in the shade and have a picnic. There's a splash park to cool down at on hot days. We came during the Halloween event on the weekend and there were decorations throughout the park and even a parade.

We Had a great time with my family at Calaway. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. There are lots of rides for everyone, more for little onesMy only complaint was that the tickets 🎟️ are expensive $350 for 4 kids and 2 Adults 😅😅You can bring snacks water and food 😃

My family and I went here last Friday. We recommend coming in before they open at 10am to get a great parking spot. There were many rides for our 2 year old to go on. Our older 2 kids were able to go on their own and ride many rides. We do recommend saving time for the roller coaster and the log ride. Those were the longest lines to wait in but we did one in the morning and one after lunch. The food on the other hand was not the best. I would recommend bringing your own if you can. We did enjoy the beaver tails and candy store. Games were also great to play, our family won at least 2 from the 4 we played. We have come here for the past 3 years now. We will probably come again next year.

Fun place to visit, though the section for carnival games is quite the money racket even compared to other amusement parks. I'd highly recommend bringing a poncho and coming in on a rainy day to minimize the crowds and wait times in lines.

Went during their Halloween setup and had fun. Though I am not a ride person, my wife is, and she had a lot of fun and so did our neices. One thing I will say is the that bathrooms were spotless, and I was impressed. It had been a couple years since we last went, and it was a good enough time that we debated season tickets for next year. Well worth taking the kiddos to!

Calaway Park is a great little family spot whether you have toddlers or teens. The lines are very reasonable, the prices for a season pass on Black Friday or in May are usually phenomenal, and there is a great variety of rides for every thrill level (I lovr that the ride signs have the thrill level listed). Things I love are that the staff are super attentive to safety from making sure kids are safe heights to double checking buckles are done up. Some staff are clearly bored and going through the motions while others such as Remmy are authentically friendly and kind. My son loves the bumper cars and my daughter loves the log ride (which usually has a fairly long line compared to other rides). The food choices are pretty awful and food prices are high, if you are looking for healthy options there are virtually none and the processed food they do have is comparable to cardboard in my opinion. It is definitely overpriced for snacks but you can bring your own cooler which is a major plus. There are a ton of shady areas and it feels more immersed in nature than other theme parks. This last visit on July 20th Samira, Muskaan, Ryan, Jordan, Gabriel and Remmy seriously made our visit a blast. They were extremely friendly, joking with the customers, and all thoroughly looked to be having fun working and enjoying their jobs. Gabriel offered to help me out of the log ride, Samira helped me with tips to keep my purse dry, Muskaan was so friendly at the log ride entrance, Ryan was a blast throwing jokes and engaging customers with his smile, and Jordan was diligently cleaning up and helping his colleagues. The girl with blonde hair and a pink shirt at the top of the log ride was super friendly and engaging too. We were greeted by Naghat when we arrived and left and she was warm and welcoming each time amd it means a lot when the front gate person sets the tone for the visit. Parking was easy, there was a ton of spots to sit and rest on a hot day, and walking from place to place was quick and convenient. Well laid out park with safety focused staff.

Fun trip. Lots of rides for kids of all ages and sizes. Definitely busier on weekends. Season pass is the best way to go. Also helps ease the stress of "trying to see it all" in one trip. Lots of food available, park pricing. Some of it is a little dated, but it's been around for a long time

Highly recommended if you have small children. There are so many rides geared to kids 6 and under, it’s incredible! My 4 year old can go on 80% of the rides in the park. Also definitely worth the money getting a season pass if you are local.Ride lines move quickly and the food is decent and not too overpriced.

gorgeous park! It was worse the second time and on weekdays, there were few people, the children went on the slides, some of them 10 times, it was just amazing. A huge plus is that you can get cold water in bottles for yourself, we were there when the air temperature was 33 degrees, we don’t have to look for where to buy cool water. very clean and huge area. A huge plus is that there is entertainment for all ages. There is a spray park where you can cool off.You can find something to eat and drink to suit every taste, we will definitely come back again. We spent more than 7 hours at the park, tired and happy we went home

Lots of rides for little kids and bigger kids/teenagers/adults rides are super fun. fun but basic games and a great map if you don't know the way but the reason why its 4 stars is because sometimes there are really long lines to get on the roller coaster and log ride. A free standing viewing tower in Calgary, Alberta with panoramic views of the city below and beyond. The tower is also home to a revolving restaurant that enables tourists to enjoy the thrilling sensation of being 191 meters above the city.
On my first visit to Calgary, I visited this tower and I loved the view. With a self guided tour, I learnt a lot about the city. I will recommend going during Spring or Fall as there were no lines and it was not crowded. I visited on a weekday in October and I had fun. Please get your tickets online to save time. The lights come on at night so while you take a stroll downtown, the backdrop of the tower is beautiful.

Nice experience. It doesn't take too long to see it and you can go in with almost no wait. The views are great and there's a short video on the construction and modifications that give a little history to the tower. All and all pretty cool spot for photos, not very many info things provided up there would be nice to learn or see more about the city we are overlooking.

While the Calgary Tower may no longer stand as the tallest building in the city, it remains an iconic landmark and a must-see attraction for visitors. The tower is well-managed and maintained, offering great views of the surrounding landscape. On a clear day, you can catch stunning vistas of the Rocky Mountains to the west and the expansive prairies to the east, along with a bird’s-eye view of downtown Calgary. The glass floor section adds a thrilling touch for those looking to experience something unique. Plan to spend around 40-60 minutes here, depending on the weather and how much time you spend enjoying the views. There are several public parking options within a short walk of the tower, making it convenient to visit. Overall, it’s a worthwhile experience when exploring Calgary.

It was an eye opening experience seeing all corners of Calgary.Getting tickets and getting up in the tower took really quick and Efficient with me buying tickets online at the desk and going up right away .The tower viewing area was clean and had a movie area showing the history of Calgary. Parking was easy to get to and had an amazing price of $ 6 dollars all day with ample parking spots available .my cons were there should be a coffee shop or a family friendly food vendors at the top and pricing was a tad bit high for the length of the experience, you can probably do the tour in under 20Minutes .

It's an exciting place🥰! Highly recommend visiting!Unforgettable impressions are guaranteed! The view of the city is simply incredible😍The video hall is interesting. Good for kids. Even adults like it too. They have a glass floor platform to walk on. Sunset looks spectacular. In the night city looks amazing. Plan your trip during non-hazy days as you can’t see rocky mountains then. Buying online tickets may help you to skip waiting in queue.Don’t forget to watch the movie about the calgary tower and city’s history in the theatre at observation deck. The movie is 15-20 minutes n worth watching.NOTE: “Please ask for permission of attendants before filming them.” I know you are excited to capture everything, but some attendants working here might not be interested in becoming part of your photography n videography. So, keeping their rights n privacy in your mind, kindly show a gesture by taking their permission to film them. This will help them serve you well during your visit. :)

The Calgary Tower stands tall as a symbol of the city's ambition and charm. Its sleek design and panoramic views from the observation deck offer a unique perspective of Calgary's beauty. With dining options at the revolving Sky 360 restaurant and the thrill of the glass floor, it's more than just a landmark; it's a hub of excitement and community gathering. Whether you're a visitor or a local, a visit to the Calgary Tower is a must for an unforgettable experience.

The Calgary Tower is a must-visit for anyone exploring the city. Offering panoramic views of the entire skyline, it provides an unbeatable vantage point to soak in Calgary’s beauty. From the observation deck, you can see everything from the Rockies to the city's urban spread, making it a fantastic spot for both locals and tourists alike. One of the most unique aspects of the Calgary Tower is its distinction as the tallest Olympic torch in the world, lighting up the city during the 1988 Winter Olympics. In comparison with other iconic towers globally, it may not be the tallest (standing at 190.8 meters), but the experience it offers is uniquely intimate and centered around Calgary's charm, unlike the towering heights of structures like the CN Tower in Toronto or the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Its rich history and breathtaking views make it an essential stop during any Calgary trip!

We spent a night in downtown Calgary. It is a busy street and we visited the Prince's Island Park, Peace Bridge and the Massive Head Sculpture which they called the Wonderland Sculpture that I walk through. It is very large and eye-catching. The Calgary Tower is magnificent even from a distance. Calgary downtown is a city brimming with diverse attractions and vibrant culture and it is worth visiting.

Go up the elevator to a 360 degree spectacle of the Stampede City. Our Calgary is one of the most beautiful and vibrant cities of the Canadian west. On a clear day you will see the majestic Rockies on the west and the prairie open lands on the northeast. The most attractive is the glass ledge that extends out and when standing on the glass, look down and you will miss a heartbeat. Fun Fun Fun! Not for people with vertigo.Having said the above, and being on Calgary tower at least 2 times per year in the last 24 years, I honestly feel that the tower should improve its quality. In general, I felt the floors were not clean, the colors are dull, and there are no new attractions. I felt as though the tower is existing just because it needs to.Suggestions: Introduce a 10 or 15 minute movie shoecasing the Cowtown of Alberta. Add a small souvenir store. Add visual and voice interpretations. Add chargeable telescope or binoculars to look out.

What amazing view from top of the tower.Even on a hazey day like we had, the view still went on for miles on all sides.A video in the tower theatre was very informative, and the explore Calgary trailers that played after gave us a few more ideas of places to go see before we returned to the UK.There is a restaurant at the top, but entry was by booking only.

We visited from Edmonton, we visit Calgary quite often but this was our first time on the tower. The tower was a great experience. We had eaten before we came here other wise we would have visited the restaurant which would have been cool.

The Calgary tower is one of the top tourist attractions in Calgary, which offers views from the mountains and the downtown area and all of Calgary. Their is a restaurant just below the observation deck. My favourite part about the tower was the glass floor where you could look down and have a clear view of the downtown skyline. On the observation deck, on the second floor there is a place to buy snacks and drinks as well as a seating area. The Calgary tower fits nicely in Calgarys skyline with all the other buildings in Calgarys downtown.

Went up here for the sunset. Decent tower and good views. Unfortunately, there's a couple of tall buildings that slightly cover some of the views. Naturally, the tower is also close to different nice spots downtown, so that could be worth the visit. It was pretty cool getting to see the world's tallest mural just a couple blocks away. Going to the high park nearby was also a cute spot to go to after.

Nice experience. We have visited on weekday and there was no line. It just takes few minutes to reach to the Observatory Floor. The views are great and there's a short video on the construction and modifications that give a little history to the tower. There are a-lot of spot for photos. You can see city in 360 view as well as snowy peaks. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Ticket prices was bit higher side but it worth to spend one time. Gift shop was good with a-lot of items.

Didn't plan on going up the tower, but friends really wanted to see it. Learned a great deal and it was a gorgeous sunny day so you could see for miles. Sad to see that now several business towers now dwarf the Calgary Tower, but I think it holds it's own. The staff are friendly and efficient. No real delays in getting up and going down. The glass floor is always fun for photos and getting a real sense of how high up the tower really is.

Tower visit was great, access was good and didn't had to wait. Views were incredible and is family friendly. A little movie screening happens for kids to know more about the history. Parking is paid under the tower west or east parade, a bit difficult for accessible options. No ramps in parking for wheelchair. Tickets are from $20.

Our visit to the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo was absolutely amazing! The exhibits were engaging, the animals looked well cared for, and the zoo was spotless. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making the experience even better. It’s definitely worth contributing to this zoo—their dedication to conservation and animal care is evident. Don’t miss this place if you're visiting Calgary!

Nice place to spend with the family. It has been over 20 years since I visited and the place is even better than what I remembered. Lots of places to explore so plan where you want to go if you have young kids as you may not see it all. We really liked the penguin and dinosaur area. The butterflies were wonderful. Parking lot is huge and be prepared to walk

I recently visited the zoo with my family, and we had an absolute blast! The zoo is a fantastic place to spend quality time with loved ones, and I'd recommend allocating at least 5 hours to explore the entire facility. The variety of wild animals on display is impressive, and the atmosphere is perfect for both kids and adults to enjoy. The zoo's layout and facilities are well-maintained, making it easy to navigate and take in all the sights. If you're looking for a fun and educational experience for your family, look no further! The zoo is a great place to introduce your kids to the wonders of wildlife, and the excitement on their faces will make the visit even more enjoyable.Don't miss out on the opportunity to connect with nature and create lifelong memories with your loved ones. Make your zoo visit a great one

Animals look good, zoo looks clean. Sad that Dino world was closed. We sow a lot of animals, they seem happy. Recommend to visit greenhouse with butterflies. Very beautiful! Also, buy tickets in advance, because it’s definitely cheaper and faster. Ticket costs 37$, but only it’s possible to buy for 30$ (for weekdays)

Fun place to visit and spend the dayThe walk around takes you to the habitats of the critters that live thereWe saw some beautiful animals, had good weather, and for a weekend, it wasn't too crossThere are attendants to give you more information if you want it, but it's not like a formal tour that bombards you with information and shuffles you alongYou are free to stay and watch any habitat, there is a large cafeteria and additional shops that sell snacks and goodsThere is paid parking. We paid $13 for the day. Spots were available near the entranceI didn't take a picture of the lions, the light and distance didn't make for a good picture. I just wanted to let you know that they are available for viewing. It was hot at the time so the lions were laying under a shaded tree in the distanceWe didn't see the polar bears, maybe they had the day off lol?Nice weekend activity and it is easy to log stepsDefinitely recommend

I had the pleasure of visiting this zoo after attending a conference held there, and it was truly an enriching experience. It's an ideal weekend destination in Calgary and a must-see for visitors. The tropical garden, flamingos, and Mr. Hippo were personal highlights for me. Depending on the season, they offer various events, and you can even book a restaurant for added convenience.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Calgary Zoo! We are members of the Toronto Zoo, so through their reciprocal program, we were able to get 50% off on admission, which helped us save a bit. There were lots of different animals and exhibits to see, and it was good that the enclosures and exhibits were designed so that even small kids or those in strollers could see most of the animals fairly easily. The dinosaur area was also a bit different from other zoos, and the butterfly garden was pretty. There were many areas with benches, tables, and shaded seating for visitors to take a break and grab a bite. Parking was only $13, which is not too bad especially if you visit for a good part of a day.Overall, it was a fun visit, and I'd recommend it, especially for families with young children.

We have visited the Calgary Zoo with Kid on Thursday. It’s pretty good for a day to explore the zoo. We really liked the penguin and dinosaur area. The butterflies and the peacock were wonderful. Both Asia and Africa sections were renovating but still you have plenty to see with ease in a day. Tickets and food prices are bit higher side but if you plan before in hand you can get tickets in cheaper prices. Same day tickets are ~$10 higher.

We spend a full day in Calgary Zoo. So far we found it the best well managed zoo in western Canada. Staff were friendly and ready to jump in and share valuable information with kids. Entire zoo were beautifully designed and kept clean. Lots of snack store available in every corner to boost up kids for next round of wild life observation. The Canadian wild and African section were two on top of other areas and our kids love these two sectioned better than the others. Quality of snakes and food were good and price reasonable. There were also several playground that kids can play and parents to take a quick breath😀.My kids found two nice stuffy animal in the shop(a bit expensive), but very good quality.Parking are available, but payment was a bit issue for some people. 1 out of 3 ticket machines were not working properly.

We had an incredible visit to the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo! The zoo is impressively clean, making it such a pleasant experience to explore. We were so impressed by the variety of animals they have and how well thought-out the habitats are. The space given to the animals really shows how much they care about their welfare and creating environments that resemble their natural homes. It’s the perfect spot for families or anyone looking to enjoy a day outdoors while learning about wildlife. We’ll definitely be visiting again!

This was such an adventurous experience. There are lots of animals with varieties. I like the layout of the zoo, it's designed such that the way you walk in isn't the way you walk out so there's no traffic jam and even better, you're led to your next adventure as you follow another pathway.I also love that there's a garden - butterfly, flower and plant garden.Look out for the elderly tour guide (man) in the wild Canada area - he gave my kids the best learning experience of this summer. He to his time to explain so many facts about the animals of north America.I especially love the destination Africa and Asia - the interior designs are well depicted. There are also lots of sitting areas to take breaks and the kids love the difference playground there.Warning - we went in summer so my advice will be go with enough water to drink, use your sunscreen, bring your wagon to carry your things (or you could rent there) and get ready to get your steps in (exploring the zoo took almost 7 active hours of walking).Overall, it was a wholesome experience.

I spent a wonderful afternoon at the Calgary Zoo, located in the heart of Calgary, Alberta. The zoo is well-organized and clean, making for a pleasant visit right from the entrance. The variety of animals is impressive, with highlights including the playful penguins and majestic lions. The exhibits are thoughtfully designed, providing both educational information and engaging experiences. My favorite part was the Panda Passage, where I got to see the adorable giant pandas up close. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience. Dining options were good, with plenty of choices for all tastes.Overall, the Calgary Zoo offers excellent value for money and is a great place for both families and solo visitors. I highly recommend it for an enjoyable and educational outing☺️

The Calgary Zoo is a wonderful place to visit with a great variety of animals and beautifully designed exhibits. The staff are friendly, and it’s clear they prioritize animal care and conservation. However, be prepared for quite a bit of walking, as the zoo is spread out over a large area. It’s a bit tiring, but worth it to see everything the zoo has to offer.Overall, a fun and educational experience for all ages!

If you live in Calgary, the Calgary Zoo is a must-visit. This is an amazing place to explore, walk around with your friends, and see a wide variety of animals, especially the polar bears. The polar bears are new additions to the zoo; they are really big, and there are only two of them, living in a spacious habitat.I have visited the zoo my whole life and have never been disappointed, except this time due to the outrageous prices. Every food item I tried was a 10 out of 10, but I wish their food prices were a little cheaper, as the offerings are similar to any other cafeteria. For example, a water bottle costs $5.75.Despite this, my experience was amazing. However, I noticed they need more employees. I believe they are hiring, but some of the current employees seemed upset and showed a lot of attitude. Sarah G was an amazing tour guide; they trained her properly. I did get a nasty attitude from the first cafe beside the entrance.

I understand why this is (or at least was) the highest rated zoo in Canada. The first thing I want to prefix is the ease of access for anyone from a child to elderly as well as the consideration for people with wheelchairs. The verity of animals and exhibits is unbelievable, if you want to see everything in one day it would take a minimum of four hours. This is not including all the events they run throughout the day.If you are considering coming to check this zoo out, do not hesitate as it has almost everything you want to see. The one downside is the price of food and drink, but if you brink snacks and a bottle you can refill, you will be set.Have a wonderful day!

All and all a great time at the zoo! Loads of animals were out and place looked really good. They had zoo keepers all over giving out information about the animals and it was really nice to not just see but also learn about the animals.Super clean and loads of fun for the family! Also have a pretty cool Dinosaur section that is also fun to walk through.

This is a well laid out zoo. I love the way the animals are grouped and the interior habitats for some animals. Some habitats made it harder to see the animals if they were not near a fence, but overall, we saw most of the exhibits, including some weird ones we've not seen in other zoos. The only negative was having to pay $13 for parking. A bit rich on top of the entry fee. The penguin exhibit was fabulous. One of the best I've seen. I really wanted to see a big male moose but could only find a sleeping lady moose, sadly. Otherwise, a perfect day at the zoo.

My son and I had a great time, although a few of the animals we wanted to see, like the polar bear, were not in their viewing enclosures. Might be a good idea to check with the zoo in advance if any of the animals you are planning to see have been taken out of their viewing areas before your visit. Still, there were plenty of other great animals to see and learn about.

Brought our toddler for his first “zoo” experience, and it was great! The animal encloses were clean, walking paths were perfect for seeing all of the animals while not being so intrusive to them. Would go again and bring friends too. There were a few presentations going on which was great to see staff in action with the animals, and learn some interesting facts. It’s a shame to see the people with bad reviews, I bet it’s all the people that stick their kids in front of the TV and wonder why they have 2 second attention spans.

CAMPGROUND REVIEW-(Canadian Pacific Railroad Tracks)as seen in photo. The train comes by every couple hours and gives you a heart attack every single time especially at 4 am in the morning. The fishing pond is $5 to fish (limit 2). This camp doesn’t have a proper playground where children are able to play.ZOO IS SEPARATE.There’s no way to get to the zoo for campground customers unless you drive. The website is misleading, there’s only golf cart rentals at the zoo not at the campsite. Animals were having a good time after hours and that was all you could hear all night long.Admission costed us $80 and was not worth a penny. No water hookups you have to pay for someone to come fill up for you.If you have children this isn’t the place for you!

Most amazing experiences!! We stayed at a cabin on the campground. The staff was great and super friendly. The bathrooms and cabin was super clean and unkept. We spend the extra 5$ and fished for rainbow and brown trout and caught our limit in a half hour! The park itself is an amazing place. All the animals are so happy and seemTo be thriving with all the Mental enrichment they get. AllThe keepers were phenomenal. We did the bear encounter, big cats, serval cats and the wolf walk. The cats were so majestic and about 3 feet away. We got to feed the serval cat and she showed off her skills by jumping up and climbing for treats. The bear encounter and wolf walks are once in a lifetime opportunities!! We interacted with 3 different bears! Angel the black bear, the white black bear and Barkley the Kodiak brown bear. Amazing. Then the wolf walk the next night and it did not disappoint. So much wolf love. The keepers were extremely knowledgeable and awnsered every question we had about the animals. Serena is amazing with the animals. She definitely loves her job and cares about the animals along with the rest of the staff. Wish I could remember the e rest of your names but you all rock.We will be back lots in the future!

We absolutely loved our visit to the Discovery Wildlife Park.My mother in law is visiting from Wales and we wanted to take her to experience this park as we haven't been ourselves. What a fantastic time we had. We rented a golf cart and we meandered through the pathways and stopped to check out the wildlife. Very interesting labels to explain what each animal is and where they are from.We saw that picnic tables were spread out sporadically through out the park to have a picnic. There were also areas for children to play on.The grounds were kept clean and grasses trimmed.A little expensive but fun nonetheless.

Nice little place to spend a day. All the animals are well kept and look healthy and well cared. The zoo can be explored either by foot or you may avail the rental battery car at $10/hr. It takes around an hour to cover the zoo on foot if you spend 2-3 minutes in front of each enclosure. Ample parking is available outside and you can bring in your food and have a family picnic inside. The place also has room for RVs and you can rent out some of the log huts as well.

My family and I stayed at Discovery Wildlife for five nights. The grounds were clean, bathrooms and showers were clean, staff were kind and helpful. We all thought it was super cool to be sleeping in a zoo. My mom did the walk with wolves experience and absolutely loved it. My only complaints are the curfew to campers, especially when some campers want to explore a fair drive away and the “quiet time” wasn’t actually implemented. While I do understand that there are gates to also keep the animals safe, this was our only issue. Perhaps a system where campers could punch in a pin to open the gate at any hour could be added one day? And as for the noise, yes I have young children that made noise too, but playing music loudly or talking loudly or listening to kids playing until 1am isn’t fair for anyone trying to sleep.Would I recommend this campground? Yes, probably. Will I camp here again? Most likely.

Visited this beautiful park first time for Christmas light the night. A stunning drive for 20km+ along the colourful display of lights all around! My kids really enjoyed themselves, their favourite part was meeting the grinch, clicking photos with him! We brought some snacks and Christmas decor from the little store they have for guests! A must see; do support them ❤️ Definitely going to come back in the summer to see the animals and probably camping as well. Overall a sweet experience!

Thank you all associate give us unforgettable experience.

This is a delightful place with a variety of animals. While it may not match the scale of near by Zoo, the facilities' managed and maintenance here is superior. Moreover, they have installed a playground for kids and provided ample green space. It is well-suited for families, offering a pleasant environment to spend quality time with children. There are sufficient amenities for kids to walk around and enjoy. The availability of ample parking and indoor stores further enhances the overall experience.

We spent the weekend at this beautiful park full of wildlife and camping sites. The park itself was wonderful with tons of animals to see along with presentations on the animals themselves. The campground was full of beautiful green grass, trees and very clean. On the other half it's located right beside the CPR tracks. All hours of the day and night the trains shake your units as they go by. This is also not a full service site as online had stated, you need to pay $10 for a Waterfill, $25 for sewer truck, and it just seemed to be a nickle and dime place everywhere you went $10 per night for a firepit, $1 for 2 minutes in the shower. The staff was super friendly, cute cabins but definitely would not stay in the Campground itself again based on the cost, no hook ups, and the darn train. The Safari park was well worth the price but campground was not!

Exceptional wild life park. Both my girls had a lot of fun especially in those unique play structures made from recycled materials all over the park as shown in images. I have attached the videos of few shows and boy the staff are good at that with lively vibe. Kids get to see all those animals from very close proximity with top safety. Ample parking, playground, washroom, sheltered and unsheltered picnic benches. Its quite spacious though, lots of walking, so for your little one bring stroller, food, water, sunscream etc. Over all highly recommended. Check out videos and images and Follow for more.

We loved this place! I had been once before with my daughter and her class for a field trip a couple years ago (also a great experience)....This time we went as a family (2 kids ages 10 & 11, 2 adults) and brought my parents and adult brother with mobility restrictions along. We were able to rent a golf cart for the day which was really helpful and one of the main reasons we chose this outing, because it was so accessible for our family. However, we showed up about 30 minutes after they opened and got the last golf cart. I'm not sure if you can call ahead but I would definitely recommend being there right away if you want a golf cart. It's a beautiful place. Well kept and clean with beautiful playgrounds and lots of shady spots. The staff truly love what they do with the animals and are passionate about educating. We went to 3 sessions, the wolves, the bears, and the lions. We learned so much about each during the presentations. Our favorite thing to learn was how they teach and work on different behaviors with the animals so that their medical work, like taking blood samples to keep the animals healthy, is more routine and comfortable for the animals. My daughter came home with a canvas of bear cub paws!We spent most of the day here, brought our picnic lunch, didn't feel rushed, and had lots of playgrounds for the kids to play on.Overall a fun, somewhat relaxing, accessible, and educational experience.Thank you!!

Just got back to Calgary from a visit to Discovery Wildlife Park in Innisfail, about a 1-hour drive. After visiting all the beautiful animals (including lions, camels, cougars, elk, bears, wolves, ostriches, porcupines, and so many more), we learned that the animals there tend to be rescues from such situations as orphans, confiscation, and zoo breeding programs. I now understand that such parks give these beautiful animals a place to live their lives in a safe place where they're nourished and otherwise well-cared for. Thanks so much to owners and staff for providing and caring for such a facility. One more small note: before visiting, I had mistakenly thought that we would be able to drive our car through the park. When we arrived, we were told that the walking route was about 1 km. We were with my 83 year-old mother, and I'd forgotten to bring the wheelchair. Fortunately, there were golf carts available for rent (show driver's licence & credit card) for a reasonable fee. So we did that, and a wheelchair would probably not have helped anyway as the paths are gravel. We'll be visiting again soon, on a season's pass next time!

Bower Ponds, situated on a previous sawmill site, is an admired park in Red Deer containing ponds suitable for fishing and ice skating. It also boasts a pavilion housing a cafe and skate rentals. The park is home to various species of birds including ducks. During winters, visitors can enjoy exhilarating skating activities while in summers they can navigate the cool waters with paddleboats, kayaks or waterballs.
What a lovely gem in the heart of Red Deer, beautiful paved walking trails, pond and playground area for children., and is also pet friendly. The Cronquist Tea House is a beautiful Victorian style ‘mansion’ and is located within the park. The park is a lovely place to spend the day…

The Kerry Wood Nature Centre is situated adjacent to Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary, a federal migratory bird sanctuary in Red Deer. It spans across 118 hectares of municipal-owned land and offers an opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the stunning natural beauty while exploring the trails. The site is home to remarkable wildlife including beavers, porcupines, birds, and ducks. However, the interactive exhibits at the centre seldom function properly even though it's the only relevant nature centre in Red Deer.
This is a fantastic nature centre that all of the family can enjoy. The building contains an interpretive centre and gift shop. There are public washrooms and lots of parking. There is a cool play area for kids. There is direct access to the Gaetz bird sanctuary and a 4 km trail loop My wife and I had a great time here and definitely recommend coming here.

It was so nice to have the comfortable settees, and even a piano which anyone could play. The washrooms were very clean and how lovely to have a painting of deer on the doors. The gift shop had a wonderful selection of gifts for children and adults, and the staff were pleasant and helpful, and told us about the different walks at the back of the facilities. We appreciated the coolness of the building after being in the heat. Many thanks to you all for providing this beautiful place. Both my kids are part of the pre school program and it is fantastic! They run an amazing program giving the kids time to enjoy being outside and play and have fun while teaching them about nature and the world around them. The staff are amazing with the kids. Very thankful for this program.

The trails are great... but I've got to be honest and give this place 3/5 stars. The interactive exhibits rarely work as intended... which is a HUGE bummer. You'd think this place would capitalize on being the only relevant nature center in Red Deer. An urban connection would be nice.July 7 update: Interactive exhibits are working! 5 stars!

The Reynolds-Alberta Museum is a celebration of machines that have impacted lives worldwide. This internationally acclaimed museum offers hands-on activities and exhibits for all ages, allowing visitors to interact with the machines on display. With over a hundred well-preserved vehicles, including vintage cars, motorcycles, and farming equipment from the 1910s to the 1950s, the museum provides a nostalgic journey through time.
Plenty of parking. Accessible. The building seems small but there are 2 levels, extra unattached buildings, and artifacts outdoors. Interactive stations are placed throughout the museum that keep all ages entertained. Staff members are friendly and knowledgeable. The cost is reasonable for the experience. Multiple visits can be had to thoroughly learn about each exhibit. The current motorcycle exhibit is cool.

Very nice collection of vintage cars and planes.Apparently, there was some discount offer going on. So, I got the ticket at 50% OFF. So, good thing that I didn't book in advance

Must see. A lot of Alberta history is on display in machinery that has been used by the farming community. Not only farm equipment but a wide assortment of automobiles are on display. In a separate building a large assortment of aircraft that have a history in Alberta. In a separate area are machines used in the mining industry. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. We spent a full day at the museum and it was time well spent.

So knowledge enriching. They invested more on information sharing. They made the vintage equipment more attractive and appealing. The place is conducive for learnings. Good job guys!

Went to the Reynolds museum, probably for the first time in 20 years, and it was nostalgic to say the least! The place looks like it hasn’t changed one bit since I was a kid. You would think 2 decades would have aged the place, but it still looks as brand new as when it first opened.Well taken care of, and the volunteers working there are exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. My favourite part might have been the drive-in theatre, where they were showing old movie trailers from the 70’s. 😄Great for the parents as well as the kids. I would say it’s worth a stop in Wetaskiwin to tour and reminisce. 👌

My husband, my father in law and myself went here yesterday for the Harvest Festival and it was great! The outdoor demonstrations were nice but also the museum itself is a really impressive place. It is so well lit, clean and maintained. It has so many amazing machines and history and we were all really impressed with it. It’s like a big city museum so they did an amazing job of it I think. It wasn’t too busy or chaotic so it was great. My father in law got tired of walking too so we got to use a wheel chair to give him a rest. The floors are so smooth and great too. It’s a very nice museum! We got tickets online but getting them there would have been easy too. Thanks!

There are so many pictures I could add, but I won't! You have to see this place for yourself. You won't be disappointed!!There are interactive things for the kids to try, lots to see, and experience. We all loved it! Don't forget to make your own googly eyed rock troll! We went on a Thursday as soon as they opened, so there was no wait to get in!

My young children and I had an amazing time visiting this past week. They thoroughly enjoyed the driving through the 70s exhibit and even my daughter who generally takes no interest in vehicles or aircraft was enthralled by the displays in the hanger and outside. Unfortunately they were unable to accommodate a warehouse tour (understandable as it was the long weekend) but we all had such an amazing time we're already planning a return trip this summer.

We were on long weekend and it was lovely. It really great place to visit and you totally could spend more than 2 hours. They have a magnificent collection of vintage vihecles and fam equipment that was well perfomed with different interactive for kudos. Also there are gift shop and cafe. Highly recommended.

Went to the Reynolds Auto Museum yesterday in Wetaskiwin yesterday. They have a 'driving through the 70's display with some very nice cars. I strongly suggest you go. Winter time and weekdays are the best times to go.. It was super quiet yesterday.

Great place to spend quality time with family. I never knew about the aviation museum just adjoining with no extra charge. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. It was a great afternoon spent there.

My wife took me to the Reynolds Museum on her birthday. They have a collection of vintage cars and old farm equipment that has been restored. They also have an aviation museum. We had hotdogs and fries at the concession. I enjoy my time there, and we plan to come back and bring our friends.

Magnificent collection of equipment, automobiles, and aircraft depicting the history of Alberta. A must-see not only for traveling tourists but for local Albertans.

Horrible experience with the kitchen staff!! NEVER GOING BACK AND TELLING EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO DO SO. Those 2 men do not know how to work with customer service at all! They need other workers there. I wanted to upgrade my order, and the guy got mad because he out loud said, " Now I have to do the math." How hard is it to rest? He was in his 20s 30s? Still just kept saying all the work he had to do because I said I wanted my order to be switched the moment I just ordered. Then I was with school students, and a few of them wanted to use the bathroom after they finished eating, but I just had gotten my order as they took forever. So I stood to take them all to the bathroom and I was going to sit on the last cafeteria table to be able to see they were safe while using the washroom, right next to the cafeteria and the old men in the cafeteria just ran to me and said " where do you think you're going with that food" so angry treating me as the worst person ever. 😒 I told them I had to take kids to the washroom, and he just rolled his eyes. Moreover The clases they offer for school are really long and boring. Kids need to move they have so much energy!! Several kids kept saying, "we skipped school for this." They didn't give them any chance to have a snack 😕 sitting down most of the time, reading a super long book about pancakes? Kids wanted to see the museum! The kids were hungry, tired of sitting down, and some of them even falling asleep! We Got there 9:40 am before they even opened and did let us in and we finished at 12:30 the clases by the time we had lunch, we had 30 min to run through exhibits. Kids were very disappointed on those clases and were crying they actually didn't get to see the museum.

I took my parents here when they were in Calgary and they loved it! It was worth the drive and really enjoyed all of it. The muesuem is really well done with all the displays and the cars took them back in time! My dad wished he could be here for the car show in July. In the fall they do a restoration course which would be amazing to take!

A great learning/interpretive place on Canadian history of cars/motor vehicles and airplanes especially their story in Alberta. Very kind staff and nice/clean space full of original/restored models. I’d love to visit again!

We had a great time exploring here on a home school field trip. The staff were friendly. I wish it was more interactive and someone gave the kids tasks to do or things to look for so they would learn more. The vehicles are so cool and restored amazingly well. Overall, it was a good day.

Lots of amazing vehicles to see. Nice technical descriptions. Interesting history as well. I left a purchase from the gift shop in the back pocket of a wheel chair. They mailed it to me right away. How courteous is that?

The University of Alberta Devonian Botanic Garden is a 240-acre complex with gardens and conservatories, many featuring exotic plants. The garden is home to a research center and offers educational programs, classes, and workshops for children and adults.
We went mid September and even though it was the end of summer it was a beautiful and peaceful place to enjoy. There were plenty of lovely flowers still available to view, including the well kept grounds. There were some neat water fountain features and plenty of places to sit and take in the views. There were also some pleasant little walking trails within the gardens to follow and enjoy. We noticed that the garden also has quite a few outdoor tables and seating in the one area, which some are covered by outdoor weather domes. All in all a fantastic place to visit! Bring a book and enjoy the peacefulness, bring a picnic, bring a friend or even just come on your own. Would definitely recommend.

Very nice place to visit. Managed to go when there was a heat warning though so didn't get through the whole thing. They have a cafe that is nice and you can get some ice cream!

This was a beautiful day. The hop on service was great, but as it was senior day, more shuttle runs should be available with a wheelchair trolly attached. Also, the gardening crew did a fantastic job with the grounds keeping. There should always be something flowering. Will do again.

An absolutely stunning garden and such a lovely walk as well. I focused more on the macro side of things as you can see in my photos. But this place is good for your nervous system. Went on a Saturday in August and it wasn’t super busy either. Not expensive to go to and has accessible trails. Worth a visit if you’ve never been. Will be back next year in early summer to see and smell all of the lilacs!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this amazing establishment, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations. The ambiance is simply beautiful, creating the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. However, what truly sets this place apart is its exceptional staff. In particular, I had the pleasure of interacting with Diane Gargas, who left a lasting impression with her warm hospitality and unparalleled level of service. Diane went above and beyond to ensure that both the couple I was accompanying and my team felt welcomed and well taken care of.As someone catering for several wedding events this summer, Diane's accommodating nature and friendliness were invaluable. She effortlessly catered to our needs and made the entire experience seamless and enjoyable.I cannot thank Diane and the rest of the staff enough for their outstanding service. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience coupled with exceptional service.Aya

Wow, I had the most amazing day with my colleagues here... Walking in the gardens, hearing all kind of creatures sounds and especially breathing fresh air which is extremely unwinding. It's worth to pass a journey in this beautiful oasis near Edmonton when u want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and relax in nature! Highly recommend if you want a nice botanical getaway and a picnic experience. The gardens are really beautiful.

It’s our first time here at the Botanical Garden! We visited on Alumni day and were amazed by all the nice landscape and botanical arrangements here! We saw quite a few couples taking their wedding photoshoot as well. A very decent place and definitely a great family place to go!

It was honestly a good visit , beautiful area , I was not feeling so well ( heat issues ), but I still pushed forward and it was so worth going , so many beautiful areas to see , sit peacefully, music in the evening was pleasant, domes to sit in to eat .The only thing that I find that sucks , if you rely on bus services , there is no way for more families to enjoy this beautiful area due to how far out it is without better services for more people to better have access options so more families can have opportunities to come out to embrace something peaceful....I will go again ,and it was a beautiful experience.I would highly recommend for nature lovers ....

Can here first thing in the morning when it opened. Best time to get all your photos when no one is there. It's a nice peaceful place to go for a walk and enjoy the scenery. We took our time and completed the whole thing in about 2 hours.

Did a stroll there today with my daughter and it is so beautiful. Love the flowers, plants and bushes that they combined to make the scenery so beautiful. This is the perfect place to take pictures. I especially love how they included a $5 dog admission fee for our fur babies to join us anytime we go. Totally worth the visit 👍🏻👍🏻

I took my daughter with me to the botanical garden. It was great to see all the different plants and statues and gardens. The workers there were all friendly, they did a great job of maintaining the place. The price within reason for all the things to explore, they even have a nice food/snack area. Thanks for creating a good father/daughter memory!

Went there for work with my co-workers, and it is the beautiful place I have ever seen in Alberta so far for Nature. I can't begin to explain which Garden was the best for me, but as we were there for the whole 8 hours a day, we got an opportunity to visit all the different Gardens and I love allllllllll. ❤️ the place and the Employee are so adorable and the way they caring and giving love to the plants and roses is so wow. Well, the point is I can't explain how beautiful and wonderful the place is, I just recommend you to go and see for yourself. The nature and the beauty are what you will get at this place.

This gorgeous botanical gardens just north of Devon is a wonderful place to visit with friends and family. It has indoor and outdoor gardens, the Aga Khan garden, Patrick Seymour alpine garden, and my favourite, the Kurimoto Japanese garden with its pagoda, belfry and tea house. There are events, weddings and concerts there at times, as well as tea in the tea house. Well worth the visit!

It’s more of a park than garden. Quite large in size. There are ample washrooms and is a canteen at the visitor center. Enjoyed our trip. Good for time passing and relaxing.

Lovely and peaceful gardens. Enjoyed the leisurely walk throughout the different areas of the park. My favorite was the Japanese garden!Well maintained and very clean. Friendly staff and visitors. Will definitely be back soon.

Loved this garden! It's massive with tons of plants and trees from everywhere. Different gardens have different themes, which was cool. There were even lots of birds! Plenty of bathrooms too, which is always nice on a big walk. The greenhouses were okay, but not as amazing as the Muttart Conservatory. But the huge outdoor gardens were way better anyway!Ample parking lots and not much of a crown, even on weekends.Highly recommend for a relaxing day in nature.

Went for the Twilight Picnic Experience. $125 for entrance and 2 picnic boxes. Boxes were charcuterie. Standard, gluten free and halal options available. Live music. Was not very busy on a Saturday night in August. Drinks (alcohol and non-alcoholic) in main area and also a cart driving around.Gardens are much bigger than I thought. Could spend a few hours here if you’re leisurely walking. Great photo ops. Good for a date night.
